Luke Prosser: Still suspended

Team news ahead of Tuesday's League Two clash between Southend United and Plymouth Argyle at Roots Hall.

The hosts will hand late fitness tests to at least four players as they look to keep their play-off aspirations alive.

Shrimpers manager Paul Sturrock is refusing to reveal the identities of the quartet concerned but all four are doubts having been involved in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Torquay.

Defender Ryan Cresswell is another who will be assessed as late as possible having missed out altogether at the weekend with a calf injury, while Luke Prosser serves the second game of his two-match suspension and Mark Phillips (broken toe) and Chris Barker (Achilles) are nowhere near returning.

However, striker Barry Corr is expected to be available having missed out against the Gulls due to illness.

Midfielder Matthew Lund played the final game of his current loan spell at the weekend but Sturrock is confident of extending his stay from Stoke.

Plymouth centre-back Anthony Charles is set to be included in the squad after he missed the last two matches with a groin injury but he looks likely to be involved for John Sheridan's strugglers.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin has returned to full training having been ruled out since early February with a hamstring injury and is likely to take his place on the bench again after Jake Cole's eye-catching display against the Cod Army.

Sheridan revealed this week that he wants to add to his attacking options but he is unlikely to be able to do that before the trip to Roots Hall.

Plymouth make the trip having lost just one of their last five league games.
