Two goals by Clement Grenier saw Lyon keep up the pressure on the Ligue 1 leaders with an impressive 4-0 victory at Bordeaux. Goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Gueida Fofana, as well as Grenier's double, provided the visitors with their first four-goal victory at the Stade Chaban-Delmas since 1977. Defeat for Bordeaux left them languishing in ninth, but still just four points away from Nice, following consecutive league defeats. Lyon took the lead after 15 minutes with their first and only real chance in the first half. The visitors hit Bordeaux on the counter and Bafetimbi Gomis held off his man before finding the perfectly-timed run of Grenier who made no mistake when faced with Cedric Carrasso. Bordeaux went in search of an instant reply but Benoit Tremolinas fired wide from the angle of the area before Ludovic Obraniak saw his effort saved by Remy Vercoutre after he had carved an opening from the left. Les Girondins continued to press for an equaliser and Florian Marange went closest just after the half hour mark. He met Jaroslav Plasil's corner with a glancing header but the ball shaved the left post with Vercoutre beaten. Despite their dominance in the first half, Bordeaux boss Francis Gillot rang the changes at half-time with Gregory Sertic and Fahid Ben Kalfallah coming on in an effort to reverse the scoreline. The change had little effect though and it was Lyon who went closest to doubling their score but Gomis could only find the side-netting after he was played in behind the defence by Grenier. Both teams were proving to be wasteful in front of goal. Firstly, Henri Saivet wasted a good chance to equalise when Obraniak picked him out at the back post but his header was poor. Then, Alexandre Lacazette did will to create himself a shooting chance through the middle but his shot was woeful and finished up some way wide of the goal. Bordeaux's failure to translate their first-half dominance proved costly though when Lyon doubled their lead with style in the 64th minute. Lacazette found Fofana 25-yards out and the former Le Havre midfielder powered a right-footed drive into the top corner of Carrasso's goal. The scoring did not stop there for Lyon and the visitors added two more goals with 15 minutes still remaining. Firstly, Grenier confidently scored from the spot despite Carrasso picking the right side after Julien Faubert fouled Fofana in the area. Lacazzette added a fourth just two minutes later when he volleyed home from close range following a poor defensive header by Florian Marange.
