Harry Davis: Pushing for a start

Harry Davis: Pushing for a start

Team news for Tuesday's League One clash between Crewe and Bournemouth at Alexandra Stadium.

Crewe boss Steve Davis has a fully-fit squad to choose from for the midweek tie.

Defender Harry Davis missed his side's last two games with a toe injury but is back in contention to face Eddie Howe's men on Tuesday. The manager must decide whether to bring his son back into his starting XI or stick with Mark Ellis, who has been starting in his absence.

Mathias Pogba started Saturday's 1-1 draw with Notts County from the bench having made his international debut for Guinea a few days earlier.

He could return to the starting line-up, providing another selection headache for Davis.

Crewe lost 3-1 when the two sides met last month and will be hoping for a positive result this time out.

Bournemouth's stand-in captain Tommy Elphick will undergo a late fitness test.

The centre-back missed the 2-0 win over Portsmouth on Saturday with a knee injury sustained in the victory over MK Dons the previous week.

And he will be assessed before the clash at Gresty Road on Tuesday night.

Fellow defender Charlie Daniels has missed the Cherries' last three matches with a foot problem and looks like missing out again with Matt Ritchie set to deputise at left-back again for Eddie Howe's men.

Scottish winger Ryan Fraser could also return to contention having been missing since his move from Aberdeen last month.

Bournemouth are up into fourth in League One, a point off top spot, after Saturday's fourth successive win in the south-coast derby.
