1. Arsenal face an immense challenge if they are to qualify from the last 16 of the Champions League after a 3-1 first leg defeat by Bayern at Emirates Stadium. Away goals from Kroos, Muller and Mandzukic added to the pressure on the already under-fire Wenger as his side were largely outplayed. A second-half header from former Bayern player Podolski had given Arsenal some hope as they threatened a comeback.
