James Tarkowski: Set to start for Latics

Team news ahead of Saturday's FA Cup first-round clash between Kidderminster Harriers and Oldham at Aggborough.

James Tarkowski is set to return to the Oldham defence when Paul Dickov's side travel to face Blue Square Bet Premier strugglers Kidderminster.

Tarkowski, a product of Latics' academy, will deputise at centre-back as Jean-Yves Mvoto begins a three-match ban following his sending off for violent conduct during last weekend's 1-1 draw at Crawley in League One.

Dickov has been handed a boost with the news that Matt Derbyshire is eligible to feature after the striker extended his loan spell from Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening.

Manchester City youngster Reece Wabara is also allowed to play despite his parent club's current injury worries at right-back.

Robbie Simpson is once again expected to keep Dean Furman out of the team in midfield, with the club captain likely to feature among the substitutes. Dickov is expected to name a full-strength side having learnt the perils of rotation in the early rounds of the cup when Accrington dumped Latics out during his first season in charge.

"We have had them watched," he said of Kidderminster in the Manchester Evening News. "Some players we do know and some we don't. One thing that we will be is prepared. We want to go there and show them the same respect we showed Crawley on Saturday."
