Newcastle United v West Bromwich Albion preview

West Bromwich Albion will be keen to bounce back from last weekend's defeat by Manchester City with a victory at Newcastle United on Sunday.

The Baggies' impressive start to the Premier League campaign suffered a dent when they went down 2-1 at home to the defending champions. Heading into the game at St James' Park, Steve Clarke's side find themselves sixth in the league standings with 14 points from eight matches, one point behind fourth-placed Everton. However, West Brom are yet to win away in the Premier League this season, while Newcastle in 11th have won two at home. Alan Pardew's team have made a slow start to the season, picking up just 10 points from eight matches, and have not won in three league fixtures. However, the Magpies' 1-0 win against Club Bruges in the Europa League on Thursday will have enhanced their confidence for Sunday's clash.Midfielder Cheick Tiote is out for Newcastle as he starts his three-match ban on Sunday. The Ivory Coast international is suspended after being sent off during the first half of last weekend's 1-1 draw at Sunderland. Tim Krul, Danny Simpson, Fabricio Coloccini, Mike Williamson, Yohan Cabaye, Jonas Gutierrez, Hatem Ben Arfa, Shola Ameobi and Demba Ba are all expected to return to the starting line-up. West Brom could have defender Billy Jones back, as the right-back has recovered from his knee injury. Left-back Jerome Thomas is also expected to make his first appearance this season after recovering from his injuries. Captain Chris Brunt and defender Steven Reid are unlikely to feature on Sunday as they are still nursing hamstring problems.
