   The wall does its job as Kolarov's free-kick is booted away and Ajax have surely left no room for a late City salvo here.

   Balotelli wins a free-kick after Enoh's challenge and this is Kolarov territory as the winger sets up from 25 yards.

   Tevez and Dzeko combine but the former just can't force the ball out of his feet. In the end City win a corner, but Kolarov's delivery is cleared at the near post.

   Late change for the hosts as Schone is replaced by Boerrigter.

   Dzeko gets his head to the corner, but he can only find the arms of Vermeer. Moments later though, Kolarov earns the visitors another corner.

   Eriksen's tiredness shows as he gives the ball away, but wonderful work from Van Rhijn forces Kolarov's delivery behind for a corner.

   City are on the front foot for now but as Aguero fires wide from the edge of the box, they do look vulnerable on the counter attack.

    Dzeko nods the ball on to Aguero, but City's four strikers fail to create an opening and Ajax ends up defending stoically.

    Schone displays tremendous control to hold up Blind's sprayed ball, but the fatigue starts to show in Van Rhijn who concedes a throw-in.

    Vermeer is again on hand to punch away a free-kick from Nasri, and as Babel looks to break, Hart sprints out, showing wonderful anticipation to deny the striker a route to goal.

    Nasri's excellent hold up play earns City a free-kick after Poulsen's hacking at his ankles, but Ajax are quite happy to retain possession when they get it and City are struggling to break the hosts down.

    Toure enters the referee's notebook for a poor tackle on De Jong, after the City man was beaten for pace.

    Milner heads off and Balotelli, City's fourth striker enters the fray.

    Nasri turns brilliantly after controlling Toure's ball. He seems to receive a tug from Alderweireld which isn't penalised and in the end Ajax win the goal kick.

    City come close but Dzeko skips past Vermeer before his shot is charged down by Moisander. Straight up the other end, De Jong has a pop but Hart gets down quickly to keep the ball out the net.

    Brilliant work from Clichy, who holds up the oncoming Eriksen, who continues to cause all kinds of problems for City's defence, and clears competently.
