Brendan Rodgers: Reds boss set to name strong side for second leg against Hearts

Liverpool are closing in on a place in the Europa League group stages but must be wary of complacency when they welcome Hearts to Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers' side hold a slender 1-0 advantage over the Scottish Premier League club following last week's first leg at Tynecastle.

The Reds have the edge after the unfortunate Andy Webster's late own goal, but will be well aware that were forced to work hard to get their noses in front.

Rodgers has promised to field a strong side meaning some of the stars who missed the trip to Edinburgh - such as Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and Luis Suarez - could be involved.

Lucas blow

Liverpool have lost midfielder Lucas ahead of the return match after the Brazilian was ruled out for up to three months with a thigh injury.

Hearts captain Marius Zaliukas could be fit for the Anfield contest. The Lithuanian has been troubled by a thigh injury but has been training and hopes to prove his fitness.

Goalkeeper Peter Enckleman, who is still to make his debut for the club, is doubtful with a shoulder injury.

Liverpool go into the clash on the back of their thrilling 2-2 draw at home to Manchester City on Sunday, while Hearts missed the chance to go top of the SPL as they were held to a goalless draw against Aberdeen last time out.
