Aleandro Rosi scored for Parma
Parma got their Serie A campaign up and running at the second attempt with a 2-0 victory over Chievo.
Having lost to Juventus in their opening match last weekend, Parma had a much easier time of things at the Ennio Tardini Stadium thanks to goals from Ishak Belfodil and Aleandro Rosi.
The home side looked at ease from the whistle and threatened after just three minutes with a Jaime Valdes strike from outside of the box which fell wide of the left post.
Massimo Gobbi then stepped up with their second chance after 19 minutes, a strike from 30 yards which cleared the crossbar.
However, a goal followed in the 33rd minute. Valdes played the ball to Daniele Galloppa, who whipped in a cross for Belfodil to head home in the bottom right corner.
Galloppa then teed up Dorlan Pabon as Parma looked to extend their lead on the stroke of half-time, but the striker saw his effort kept out by a diving save from Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.
Galloppa was proving something of a handful for the Chievo defence and he caused further problems after 58 minutes, playing in Jonathan Biabany whose shot from the edge of the area curled inches wide.
Chievo finally caught a glimpse of goal after 65 minutes and it almost paid off for Sequiera Luciano with a 25-yard free-kick which was taken at the second attempt by home goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.
That was as good as it got for the visitors though, as Parma once more asserted their authority.
Biabany wasted two good chances as the clock ticked down, firing wide and then high of the target, but the second goal eventually arrived three minutes from time as Biabany provided the assist for Rosi to finish low into the net.
