Lyle Taylor: Scored a double in Saturday's 4-3 win over Airtrie
Falkirk clung on to a 4-3 win over Airdrie on Saturday, marking a comeback for Steven Pressley's men following their recent poor form.
The hosts scored within the first 10 minutes when Lyle Taylor finished from close reach, and Stewart Murdoch doubled their lead after 24 minutes when he struck Kenny Arthur with a low shot.
Taylor added to his tally 10 minutes before the break, but Airdrie substitute Paul Di Giacomo pulled one back from the penalty spot after half-time when Darren Dods fouled Gregor Buchanan.
Minutes later Dods made amends as he nodded in a Jay Fulton cross, before William McLaren netted another for Jimmy Boyle's side just three minutes from time.
John Boyle produced a late scare for the hosts after scoring from six yards in the final minute, but Pressley's side managed to cling on and put an end to their losing run.
The Bairns had lost three of their last four games prior to the Westfield tie, picking up just one point from a possible 12 since their Boxing Day win at Dunfermline Athletic.
