Feyenoord undone in the Ukraine

Dynamo Kiev hit back from a goal down to claim a narrow 2-1 lead in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier with Feyenoord. Ruben Schaken opened the scoring in a third-round tie in the Ukraine, but the Dutch visitors were unable to hold on to their lead. Lex Immers put through his own net shortly before the hour mark to restore parity and the in-form Ideye Brown completed the turnaround on 70 minutes. Brown has now found the target in his last four matches and has netted the winning goal in each of Dynamo's fixtures this season.

Mix-up

Feyenoord, who will be looking to swing the tie back in their favour in the return leg, broke the deadlock on 49 minutes when a flowing counter-attack ended with Immer crossing for Schaken to stroke home. Dynamo's response arrived inside seven minutes, with Erwin Mulder left looking on in horror as a mix-up in the away defence saw him hack a clearance into the back of Immers. The hosts continued to press for what could prove to be a vital winner and finally forced their way through 20 minutes from time when Brown headed in Oleh Gusev's centre. The Nigerian forward could have had a second in the closing stages, but he rattled the crossbar with a stinging effort.
