1. Norwich have now gone seven Premier League games unbeaten after a fourth successive away draw. They will be grateful to Gazzaniga for letting Snodgrass' free-kick slip under his body. Southampton, who had taken the lead through Lambert on the half hour, have now taken seven points from their last three outings.

2. Norwich win a late corner, but there won't be any time to take it. Referee Clattenburg blows his whistle and it finishes 1-1 at St Mary's.

   Goal kick to Southampton - we're running out of seconds to find a winner.

   Lambert gets another knockdown but neither Ramirez or Rodriguez can prosper, Bunn instead charging off his line to claim. Looks like we're going to end in stalemate.

   Fonte's foolishness in not kicking clear when he has the chance results in Norwich winning a throw deep inside Southampton territory. It all came about when Morison's punt into the right corner was chased down by Bennett like a Yorkshire Terrier going after a tennis ball.

   Fonte goes down like he's just been hit with a right hook from Mike Tyson when he's in the way of a Pilkington rocket from about 25 yards out.

    Huge appeals from the Norwich fans when Snodgrass goes down under a challenge from Shaw. It could have been deemed a tackle from behind as the former Leeds man looked to weave his way through, but replays do show he took the ball with his right foot as he dived in.

    A rather frustrated Holt makes way for Steve Morison. The subbed player decides he's seen enough, walking straight down the tunnel rather than taking a seat on the bench.

    Ramirez's night is rather summed up by a left-footed strike at goal that is only going to do damage to spectators sitting about 15 rows up.

    Another well-worked move from a Southampton set-piece but, just as it looks like Yoshida is drifting in around the back to get in at goal, Ramirez tries to take the ball down on its flight path, giving Norwich the chance to clear their lines.

    Puncheon takes aim after getting a yard away from Garrido down Southampton's right, his low, curled effort towards the far right post being pushed away to safety by Bunn. Good strike, but the goalkeeper always had it covered.

    It's just not happening for Southampton in this second half, Norwich could do with making the most of their dominance and finding a second goal.

    Gazzaniga goes some way to making amends for his earlier error when he keeps out a close-range header from Holt, who had somehow wriggled free of the Southampton defence at the far post.

    Norwich enjoy their first real extended period of possession, resulting in a Garrido cross that Snodgrass heads up straight in the air for Gazzaniga to claim. Perhaps could have let that ball drop and strike for goal with his left foot.

    Lambert pulls away from goal to get on the end of Ramirez's corner in another well-worked set piece, only the forward's header is directed poorly straight towards Bunn.

    Southampton work a nice move from the set piece, a dummy runner putting Norwich off before Schneiderlin chips a cross to the unmarked Fonte at the far post. Sadly, though, Fonte shows why he's playing at the back instead of up front, smashing his volley backwards towards the left touchline.

    Johnson is penalised for a silly foul on the edge of the box when Puncheon is running away from goal. Looked more like a slip, but suddenly Mr Clattenburg is back in favour with the home fans.

    Southampton have, just as they did in the opening half, started quickly.

    Bennett does well to block away Clyne's low cross from the right after the full-back had linked up superbly with Puncheon on the touchline. Ramirez was lurking behind the Norwich centre-half to poke the ball into the goal from no more than three yards out.

    We're back underway at St Mary's. We had goals in the first half, but the standard of play could definitely go up a notch or 10.

43. Quick prediction before the re-start - Saints to win 3-1 with Ouncheon and Lallana to get the goals, according to Liam Hooper.

It was all going according to plan, Jake, until your young goalkeeper tried to build a bridge from Snodgrass' tame effort. He's also complaining about Mr Clattenburg, though I think the official has had an excellent half.

    That's the end of the first half - Southampton have dominated for long spells but are on level terms at the break after Gazzaniga's error right at the end. The 20-year-old will not want to see that again - sadly, he's going to get plenty of reminders.

    Well, I did say that they'd want to test Gazzaniga. Snodgrass did just that with a rather tame, low effort. The goalkeeper, however, goes down in stages, allowing the strike to squeeze between the ground and his body and go up into the roof of the net.

    Schneiderlin whips in a superb free-kick from the right with his left peg, the angle leaving Bunn rooted to the spot. Any touch would have resulted in a goal, yet instead the ball drifts just past the far post to leave the score at 1-0.

    Garrido trips Puncheon and is warned by Mr Clattenburg that his next foul will see him in the book. The official has been pretty lenient so far.

    Clattenburg angers the home crowd when he gives a foul against Lambert for pushing. The striker was actually sandwiched between two Norwich defenders and looked like he appeared to be shoved himself.

    Norwich get the chance to load the box with a set piece, only the ball is over-hit towards Holt. He does well to head the ball sideways and keep it in, but yet again the Canaries have wasted an opportunity when they had plenty to aim at.

    More good play from Southampton, Lallana putting Puncheon into space with a nut-meg but the winger's cross from the right drifts out of play aiming for Lambert at the far post.

    The game needed that goal, but Norwich might suggest to the officials that the original free-kick struck Lambert on the arm. The key was, though, that he never made a move towards the ball with his arm.

    Lambert pokes the hosts ahead! Hardly the prettiest of goals, but Southampton will take it. The set piece actually hit the forward's arm and then ricocheted off former team-mate Holt back into his path, allowing him to poke the ball past Bunn.

    Half-an-hour in and we are yet to really have a clear-cut chance at goal. Snodgrass has at least given Gazzaniga something to do with a left-footed strike, while at the other end Bunn was relieved to see a Lallana volley dip over the top of his net.

    When Holt's heavy touch results in the ball going out for a throw-in, the home fans suggest he's a rather poorer version of their own forward, Lambert. I used the word poor there, but I'm not sure that's what the Southampton spectators were actually saying...

    Lallana's in search of his 50th goal for Southampton tonight and he wouldn't have scored any better had his left-footed volley smashed into the goal, rather than flashing over the top of Bunn's bar. Great attempt, though, after Puncheon had picked him out in space at the back post.

    Tettey makes a breaking run down the right, driving inside the rather static Yoshida, who is relieved to see team-mate Shaw cover his mess and shepherd the ball out for a goal kick. Norwich much more of a threat now, having weathered an early storm.

    Signs that Norwich are growing into the game as they get a spell of possession in their opponent's half. Sadly, it goes from the ridiculous to the even more ridiculous with their crossing, Pilkington hitting in an effort that would be better off at Twickenham.

    Norwich win a corner thanks to Holt out wide - yet again, though, the ball in is under-cooked worse than my attempts to make a turducken one Thanksgiving. Wasted opportunities on both counts to put some pressure on the home goal.

    Good chance for Norwich when Mr Clattenburg can take his pick for two fouls, the first on Hoolahan and the second on Pilkington. However, the set-piece delivery from wide on the left is poor, failing to beat the man at the front post.

    'You don't know what you're doing' gets chanted by the home fans after the officials fail to spot the ball has gone out of play before being caught by visiting keeper Bunn. It was so far out he had to stretch over someone in the first row to take it.

74. Richard Beagrie has predicted a 3-2 win for Norwich via Twitter, while Sam Eaton fancies the Canaries to triumph by a 1-0 scoreline, Grant Holt to get the only goal of the evening.

    A Lambert header back from Puncheon's cross looks dangerous, but a slender touch from Bennett diverts the knock-back away from two Southampton players charging to support their burly striker.

    Southampton love a diagonal into Lambert's chest more than I love a Ritz biscuit (and that's a lot, by the way). Norwich, however, always make sure they have men around him to deal with the knockdowns and flick-ons. Hosts having plenty of the ball in these opening exchanges.
