Tomer Hemed: Earned his side a point

Tomer Hemed scored his fourth goal in four games as Mallorca maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw away at Osasuna.

After a slow start the game was awakened when both sides were reduced to 10 men as Jose Nunes and Joseba Llorente were both sent-off when they clashed 10 minutes before half-time.

Osasuna though remained the more likely team to break the deadlock and they finally did so 21 minutes from time when Kike Sola headed in Roland Lamah's cross.

However, the visitors responded positively to going behind and after a brilliant save from Andres Fernandez had denied them a fortuitous equaliser, Hemed ensured they left Pamplona with a point as he headed home from Emilio Nsue's corner.

Mallorca had gone into the game as one of the form sides in the league having taken seven points from their first three games, but they showed a distinct lack of ambition until going behind as Osasuna bossed the game for the first three quarters.

Sisi was first to threaten but he fired straight at Dudu Aouate when well-placed inside 10 minutes before Andres made a comfortable save from Alejandro Alfaro with Mallorca's only effort on target before the break.

However, the game was truly brought to life 10 minutes before half-time as Nunes and Llorente clashed on the edge of the Mallorca box. Both players went down holding their faces and, after consultation with his assistant referee, Miguel Angel Ayza Gamez showed both players straight red cards.

Osasuna were first to react to the dismissals and Alvaro Cejudo came close to the opener on two occasions as Aouate parried his first effort from a narrow angle before he just couldn't stretch to reach Sisi's wicked cross.

Aouate just about kept out another Cejudo shot from range early in the second period, but the hosts pressure was eventually rewarded when a brilliant cross from Lamah was met by an equally good header by Sola which crept in off the inside of the post.

However, going behind seemed to wake Mallorca from their slumber and Andres had to make a brilliant save to deflect a Javi Marquez free-kick that seemed to evade everyone inside the area onto the bar.

Osasuna, though, did not heed the warning and from another set-piece Hemed stooped to head in from close range.

And the visitors could even have snatched all three points when Joao Victor's free-kick clipped the top of the bar with seven minutes to go.
