  1. Wednesday deserved their lead, but Leeds hit back through a marvellous goal from Michael Tonge. Unfortunately the attack on Chris Kirkland will earn the headlines rather than a full-blooded Yorkshire derby where a point apiece was just about the right result.

  2. It's all over: Wednesday 1-1 Leeds United.

  3. 90+4

Pinball around the box as Bothroyd tries two shots in quick succession after an enormous throw from Antonio.

  4. 90+2

Diouf's free kick is nodded away by Gardner in the nick of time.

  5. 90+1

A diving header from Byram gives the ball back to Kenny, who looks content to eat up a bit of time.

  6. 90

Five minutes of added time have just flashed up on the board. This could be a nerve-wracker.

  7. 89

Wednesday hitting back now, and it's Leeds' turn to defend in numbers.

  8. 88

Kenny touches a Becchio backheader over his own bar after the ball dipped down towards the goal.

  9. 87

Antonio tries to squeeze through but Kenny blocks.

  10. 85

A rare Wednesday corner easily cut out by White

  11. 84

The Owls have struggled to get out of their own half since the goal, and Buxton's throw in ends up going back past him when Madine fails to keep hold of the ball.

  12. 82

Madine replaces O'Grady, and Mayor is on for Corry, who has had a decent league debut.

  13. 82

Teasing cross from Diouf just over Becchio.

  14. 80

The goal has handed the initiative back to Leeds and Wednesday look have been rocked back on their heels. Leeds look to be going for the win here.

  15. 79

Kirkland is OK, and the game resumes, he looks shaken but is OK.

  16. 77

Sadly that magnificent goal will not be what the game will be remembered for - a fan has run on the pitch and shoved Chris Kirkland to the ground with both hands to the face. Terrible to see.

  17. 76

The former Blade was fed by White, teeing the ball to himself before unleashing an unstoppable shot with his right foot from 25 yards out.

  18. 76

    Goal! Leeds equalise through Tonge!

  19. 75

Another rasping run from Antonio down the left, but he gets the ball stuck under his feet and gives it away.

  20. 74

Michael Brown is booked for catching O'Grady by the touchline.

  21. 73

The resulting free kick is just about cleared by Byram at the far post, but the pressure is all Wednesday, who are belying their lowly position.

  22. 72

Brown hacks down Bothroyd but there's no yellow card for the combative Leeds midfielder.

  23. 71

A rare test for Kirkland as a cross come sover, but the Wednesday keeper takes it with ease.

  24. 70

Jones taking a breather in the area as Leeds try to mount an attack, Diouf not happy - as ever...

  25. 68

Antonio's shot takes a touch off Byram for a corner, but the defender's block was vital as the Wednesday man struck it well.

  26. 66

Peltier's night is over, he limps off and Luke Varney comes on.

  27. 64

Llera's clearance strikes Buxton on the arm but that would have been a harsh penalty - nothing given.

  28. 63

More theatricals from Diouf - fouled, then exchanges views with a Leeds player after the whistle goes in his favour.

  29. 62

Gardner scoops a shot over the bar after being set up by Llera - Wednesday needed a striker not a central defender on the end of that chance.

  30. 62

Barkley forces Brown to concede another after switching flanks.

  31. 61

Barkley forces a corner seconds after Bothroyd can't force a shot on target from a decent Antonio cross.

  32. 60

Llera heads clear for a throw in, which Peltier feeds to Diouf - but there is no-one waiting for his cross.

  33. 59

Impressive effort from Wednesday in that Kirkland has had little to worry him yet.

  34. 57

Diouf wanders down a blind alley and loses the ball, but he is Leeds' main outlet - nothing to show for it yet.

  35. 55

Simon, a Leeds fan on his honeymoon is watching the feed from St Lucia. Hope the missus doesn't mind, Simon...

  36. 54

Teasing cross from Antonio loops just past Kenny's left post.

  37. 53

BTW, Norris replaced Austin at the break for Leeds.

  38. 53

Tonge whips a decent free kick over Kirkland's bar, but the keeper probably had it covered.

  39. 52

Gardner blocks Diouf and is booked.

  40. 51

Diouf's dead ball delivery lacking again, a low ball in easily cleared by Bothroyd.

  41. 50

Jones booked for clumsy challenge on White

  42. 49

Bothroyd and Barkley combine to snuff out an attack on the near side.

  43. 48

Diouf takes a tumble, but the ref waves play on at minimal contact with Llera. The Leeds enigma is not a happy man.

  44. 46

Peltier just about clears a low free kick from Bothroyd as Wednesday go on the attack early on.

  45. 46

We're under way, but Leon from South Wales says: 'Great derby match so far can't wait for second half but I hope it's better as I'm a Leeds United fan!'

  46. Tim in Calais thinks wednesday deserve toi be further ahead, and I have to agree on the balance of play and that handball-that-never-was. And not just because we share the same name...

  47. Ian Wood in New Brunswick, Canada, thinks Wednesday deserve to be ahead - but reckons Leeds will come back to win 3-1.

  48. Let's hear from you with your opinions on a frantic first half - email me at tim_oscroft@hotmail.com, and let me know where you're tuning in from.

  49. Llera looks to have got away with another one in the dying seconds, raising an arm on Becchio, but again the ref misses it.

  50. 45+2

A Brown free kick is nodded goalwards by Diouf, but kirkland takes with ease.

  51. 45+1

Wednesday's tails are up and they have kept pressing after the goal.

  52. 44

Bothroyd's been Wednesday's best player, and he easily outjumped the Leeds defence, who stayed rooted to the spot.

  53. 44

Long throw from Antonio on the left, Bothroyd found himself free eight yards out and he nodded the ball to Kenny's right.

  54. 43

Goal to Wednesday! Bothroyd with a header!

  55. 41

A Leeds free kick comes to nothing, then O'Grady gets a shot in after a break but it takes a deflection and Leeds clear.

  56. 40

Semodo and Diouf are having a row after a decent tackle from the Wednesday player. The ref has calmed things down, for now.

  57. 38

Llera and Brown clashed in that last sequence, Brown got a hand in the face but that was not spotted by the ref. Llera a bit lucky.

  58. 37

Long throw from Antonio cut out by Brown on the way to Llera.

  59. 36

Bothroyd at heart of all wednesday's current pressure.

  60. 35

Bothroyd's run down the left is blocked by Brown, who then catches O'Grady in a very sensitive area. Brown down in a heap, as is O'Grady but they are both up and about after a few seconds.

  61. 34

Byram whips a cross in from the right but Wednesday's break stretches Leeds until an overhit cross misses everybody.

  62. 33

Tonge runs into the area and finds Becchio, but his diving header is blocked.

  63. 31

Gardner concedes another corner under pressure from Diouf, and another under-par attempt from the same side as before fails to find a Leeds shirt.

  64. 29

Leeds in control but not testing Kirkland, werdnesday able to push their visitors back.

  65. 28

O'Grady ploughing a lone furrow up front for the Owls, constantly surrounded whenever he does get the ball.

  66. 26

Leeds look content to regroup after a frantic spell in their area where they could have been staring down the barrel of a penalty.

  67. 25

It seems only one person did not see that, and that was referee Eddie Ilderton (Tyne & Wear).

  68. 24

Wednesday win a corner, Becchio clearly handles the ball with his left - and the referee gives nothing! Wednesday players and fans are incensed, but replays show a clear handball in the area as the Leeds striker ran and dived back towards his own goal.

  69. 22

Antonio breaks downfield with a powerful, pacey run but Leeds regroup in time and win the ball back.

  70. 21

Semedo concedes a corner, but once again Leeds can do nothing with the opportunity.

  71. 20

Austin has a go from range twice within a few seconds but fails to trouble Kirkland after the first attempt was blocked.

  72. 19

Good strike from Tonge brings out a fine save to his left from Chris Kirkland, who was strong enough to push a fierce shot away from danger.

  73. 18

Clumsy challenge from Gardener on Diouf gives Leeds a free kick 25 yards out, dead centre.

  74. 17

Neat passing from the home side with Barkley at the centre of it, then a woefully heavy touch from Antonio knocks the ball out of play.

  75. 16

Diouf takes the corner, but Wednesday deal with a poor effort easily.

  76. 15

Leeds win a corner thanks to Diouf's persistence.

  77. 14

A Jones cross goes out beyond Kenny, who takes his time to maybe calm his nerves after that near-howler.

  78. 12

Home fans are lifted, and O'Grady's cross is cut out by Byram. Wednesday on top, but they should be ahead.

  79. 11

Bothroyd chips the free kick over the top, and Antonio nods a great chance over the bar from close range. That should have been 1-0 to wednesday.

  80. 10

Byram catches Antonio and gives away a free kick 30 yards out.

  81. 9

Paddy Kenny is a lucky lad - he spills a Bothroyd shot onto the bar and safely back into his arms.

  82. 8

Peltier hooks a cross over from the left but it's too strong and Wednesday have a goal kick.

  83. 7

Antonio caught a foot offside beyond Byram on the near side.

  84. 5

Brown's free kick from deep goes over Diouf and straight to Kirkland.

  85. 4

Calls for handball against Austin not given, then O'Grady's weak header does not trouble Kenny.

  86. 2

Becchio well marshalled but forces a throw in off Llera. Leeds make nothing of it and Kirkland clears. No-one has put their foot on the ball to control things yet.

  87. 1

Mostly in the Wednesday half so far but it's all a bit frenetic

  88. Leeds kick off.

  89. Ian Fields in Canada is hoping to see Hall score on debut - you'll have to wait, Ian....

  90. New signing Ryan Hall is on the bench for Leeds, who have three ex-Blades in Kenny, Tonge and Brown in addition to Neil Warnock.

  91. Paul Corry's first league start for Wednesday after his move from UCD in the summer.

  92. Gary Croft is following the text commentary from Phoenix, Arizona - 'Leeds will dominate this game.'

  93. The predictions from overseas are still coming in: 'In Joburg tonight, Owls will win two nil!' says Neil Cheetham. I hope it's warmer in S Africa than S Yorkshire.

  94. Neil Warnock reckons the opening stages could be like the 'wacky races' - I think that's a euphemism. But if Dick Dastardley and Muttley turn up, I'll take it all back. The Leeds boss is bound to get a warm welcome from Wednesday fans after his spell at Bramall Lane.

  95. Phil Shaw has been in touch from Switzerland, and he's feeling confident: 'I can hear the Leeds faithful and smell the chips and gravy and the pie and peas. We know how to march but we've forgotten the tune of late. NW has reminded us. MARCHING ON TOGETHER!!!!!! A great 50th Birthday present for me will be a 3-1 win to the Mighty Whites! Phil in Geneva'

  96. So, how are you feeling about the state of of your team ahead of tonight? Let me know at tim_oscroft@hotmail.com.

  97. Wednesday are desperate for a win after a poor run that has seen them slide into the relgation zone. Both sides faced Yorkshire opposition last time out, with Leeds overcoming Barnsley to go seventh while Wednesday lost at home to Hull.. But, the formbook has a funny habit of going out of the window in derbies doesn't it?
