Claudio Pizarro celebrates during another Bayern rout

Bayern Munich's domination continued as they put six goals past Hannover to set another record and warm up in style for the visit of Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Bayern's 26th win of the season, a new league record, was never in any doubt after Lars Stindl turned the ball into his own goal in the 16th minute.

Franck Ribery, who had earlier hit the bar, made it two six minutes later before Mario Gomez got his name on the scoresheet before half time.

Gomez, who scored a 15-minute hat-trick in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday, made it four before Claudio Pizarro added a fifth and Andre Hoffmann scored a consolation.

The goal stung Bayern and Pizarro added a sixth to complete yet another tennis-score victory for the Bavarians.

Despite having eight new faces compared to the side which defeated Wolfsburg 6-1 in the cup, Bayern had the same dominant appeal with Ribery hitting the bar within a matter of minutes.

The ball was in the back of the net for the first time in the 16th minute when David Alaba's cross was turned into his own goal by Stindl, and the writing was already on the wall for the Reds.

Any doubts that Bayern were taking the game seriously in view of the visit of Barcelona on Tuesday were dispelled when Ribery made it two in the 22nd minute, slotting past Ron Robert Zieler from Pizarro's pass.

Pizarro was also the provider of Bayern's third in the 40th minute, setting up Gomez, who showed his eye for goal to beat Zieler without any hesitation.

Gomez scored again after an hour, tucking in Jerome Boateng's low cross as many disgruntled fans inside the Niedersachsenstadion started to leave the stadium.

Pizarro got his own name on the scoresheet 10 minutes later with Alaba sending in a cross from the left which the Peruvian striker met at the near post.

Hoffmann gave those fans who had remained some small cheer in the 84th minute with a header from close range after Manuel Neuer fumbled Christian Pander's free-kick.

Business was restored immediately, though, as Pizarro made it six immediately, dribbling past Zieler and scoring from a tight angle to complete Bayern's second 6-1 victory in five days.
