Hoffenheim missed a chance to gain three important points in the relegation fight as they gave up a late goal in a 2-2 draw at Wolfsburg.

Maximilian Arnold gave Wolfsburg the lead after 13 minutes, but Sejad Salihovic levelled with a penalty 10 minutes before half-time and Andreas Beck turned the game on its head in the 63rd minute.

However, Hoffenheim could not hang on and Naldo equalised with four minutes left.

The result takes Hoffenheim on to 24 points, still six adrift of 15th-placed Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Wolfsburg took the lead in the 13th minutes when Ricardo Rodriguez blasted a ball into the box for Arnold to turn into the lower right corner.

Wolfsburg keeper Diego Benaglio made a great save to deny Tobias Weis in the 27th minute but Hoffenheim were level eight minutes later.

It came from the penalty spot after Rodriguez fouled Sven Schipplock, with Salihovic firing a left-footed shot into the lower-right corner of the net.

Wolfsburg defender Alexander Madlung nearly gave his team the lead again three minutes into the second half but Hoffenheim keeper Koen Casteels cleared his header off the line.

Madlung went close again with the a free-kick but it went just inches over the crossbar.

Instead, it was Hoffenheim who went ahead as Beck unleashed a long left-footed blast from the edge of the area in the 63rd minute.

But just when Hoffenheim were closing in on a much-needed win, Naldo headed in Rodriguez's corner to deny them.
