David Weatherston: On target against Dumbarton
Thomas Grant and David Weatherston scored the goals as Falkirk beat Dumbarton 2-0.
The visitors almost scored in the opening minutes when Lyle Taylor latched on to a long ball only to be thwarted by keeper Steve Grindlay and then have his rebound cleared off the line by Stuart Urquhart
Dumbarton responded when Paul McGinn clipped the ball in for Bryan Prunty who fired wide from eight yards.
Falkirk took the lead when Blair Alston delivered the ball into the box for Grant to cushion a volley home from six yards.
Five minutes later Taylor flicked the ball on for Weatherston, and he raced clear before firing under Grindlay to double the lead.
Grindlay denied Taylor three times as Falkirk threatened to run riot and the striker was frustrated yet again when he just failed to connect with Weatherston delivery across the six-yard box.
