Andy Parrish: Still out for Shrimps

Andy Parrish: Still out for Shrimps

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Morecambe and Rochdale at the Globe Arena.

Morecambe welcome back Andy Wright.

Midfielder Wright missed last weekend's 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers and the 3-2 midweek loss to Burton as he served a two-match suspension.

Andy Parrish remains sidelined with a thigh strain, meaning Robbie Threlfall is expected to continue at full-back.

The Shrimps have got the better of Dale so far this term, beating them 2-1 at Spotland in October before dumping them out of the FA Cup following a first-round replay.

Top scorer Jack Redshaw came off the bench to net a late penalty as Jim Bentley's side launched a late fightback at the Globe Arena and is pushing for a return to the starting line-up.

Rochdale boss Keith Hill has increased options in attack as his side look for a return to winning ways at Morecambe.

Hill criticised Dale's wastefulness in front of goal before Accrington ran away with Tuesday's local derby 3-0 courtesy of strikes in the final quarter of an hour.

Ex-Stanley forward Bobby Grant is available once more after completing a four-match suspension, while former Colchester attacker Ian Henderson is poised to make his debut having agreed a short-term deal at Spotland earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Joe Thompson has returned to Spotland on loan from Tranmere until the end of the season.

Thompson joined Rovers from Dale last summer and has scored twice in 22 appearances for the League One promotion-chasers.

Captain Peter Cavanagh remains doubtful with a calf injury and Reece Gray (broken leg) is a long-term absentee.

Hill has won just once in six matches since returning to Rochdale last month and they lie 16th in the League Two table - six points above the bottom two.
