Team news for Saturday afternoon's League Two clash between Torquay and Port Vale at Plainmoor.

Ian Morris is set to be involved in Alan Knill's first match as interim Torquay manager after a remarkable comeback from injury.

The Irishman played for the final seven minutes of the Gulls' 1-0 defeat at Aldershot on Tuesday, an impressive feat given there were fears his season could be over when he ruptured his Achilles tendon back in late September.

Knill, in charge of the Gulls until the end of the season with manager Martin Ling away on sick leave, watched their disappointing midweek loss under Shaun Taylor and the former Bury boss says he will consult Taylor before naming his side to face Vale.

Torquay welcome Micky Adams' men having lost their last five games, a run which has seen them slip to within five points of the League Two relegation zone.

Defender Liam Chilvers will be back in the Port Vale squad for the trip to the Gulls.

Vale boss Micky Adams was forced to change his starting line-up for the first time in five matches against Morecambe last weekend when Chilvers came down with a bout of flu.

Adam Yates replaced him in the team for the 1-0 home defeat to the Shrimps.

Adams must decide whether Chilvers goes straight back into his XI at Plainmoor.

Midfielders Robert Taylor, Chris Shuker, Sam Morsy and Chris Birchall and strikers Louis Dodds, Calvin Andrew and Ben Williamson are also hoping for recalls.

Young defender Joe Davis is unlikely to make the journey to Devon as he continues to nurse a knee injury.
