Nahki Wells: Faces late test for Bantams

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Bradford City and Gillingham at Valley Parade.

Bradford striker Nahki Wells is hoping to overcome a groin strain in time to start.

The Bantams' leading goalscorer was forced off in last week's draw at Fleetwood but has allayed fears he is set for a spell on the sidelines and could continue alongside James Hanson.

Defender Rory McArdle is definitely out after twisting his ankle in the same match and will be having a scan to determine the full extent of the injury.

Teenage Australian full-back Curtis Good, on loan from Newcastle, is back in contention following illness and fellow defender Carl McHugh and winger Blair Turgott have returned unscathed from international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s and England Under-19s respectively.

Defender Andrew Davies, sidelined since October with a knee injury, has returned to full training but is not yet match fit, while full-back James Meredith is recovering from glandular fever.

Gillingham take a full-strength squad as they aim to get their promotion charge back on track.

Monday's 1-0 defeat at home to Wycombe coupled with Port Vale's 3-0 success over AFC Wimbledon 24 hours later has seen the promotion-chasing Gills drift four points off top spot.

Manager Martin Allen boasts a fully-fit squad at Valley Parade and could well opt to freshen up his side as Gillingham aim to improve upon a recent run of just one win in four games.

Leading scorer Danny Kedwell, Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Allen are all pushing for recalls while fellow midfielder Anton Robinson is still awaiting his full debut having arrived on loan from Championship side Huddersfield until the end of the season.
