Carlisle: Expected to start against Fleetwood

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Northampton and Fleetwood at Sixfields Stadium.

Northampton have no new problems ahead of the visit of Fleetwood.

The Cobblers have, meanwhile, signed former skipper Clarke Carlisle on a permanent deal before the weekend.

Carlisle, whose second loan spell at Sixfields concluded with the win over Aldershot on December 22, was a free agent after his six-month contract at League Two rivals York expired.

The centre-half, 33, is expected to go straight back into the matchday squad on Saturday after missing the New Year's Day win over Dagenham because he could not be registered as the transfer window was closed.

Manchester City loanee Emyr Huws' deal expires after the game against the Cod Army while Northampton's other three other loan players - Danny East (Hull), Henoc Mukendi (Liverpool) and Chris Smith (Swindon) - have all now returned to their parent clubs.

Injured defenders John Johnson (knee) and David Artell (Achilles) are scheduled to resume full training on Monday.

Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander has no new injuries among his squad.

The Cod Army are unbeaten in five games under Alexander, who will chase back-to-back wins for the first time as boss on the back of last weekend's 2-0 triumph over high-flying Port Vale.

Long-term knee injury victim Anthony Barry returned to the matchday squad to be an unused substitute against the Valiants and is pushing for inclusion once more.

Fellow defender Youl Mawene remains around a fortnight away from a return to action as he regains fitness following a broken foot, while veteran striker Jon Parkin (hamstring) is looking at a similar timescale.

On-loan Blackpool duo Barry Ferguson and Tom Barkhuizen have returned to Bloomfield Road.

Forward Andy Mangan (knee) remains a long-term absentee.
