Doherty: Recovering from a back op

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Wycombe and Bradford at Adams Park.

Wycombe club captain Gary Doherty will be sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing a back operation, meaning he will join the Chairboys' three suspended players in the stands.

The former Ireland international went under the knife on Tuesday to alleviate a problem with a disc in his lower back and he will miss out along with banned trio Matthew McClure, Matthew Spring and Joel Grant.

Meanwhile Dave Winfield and Dean Morgan are both doubts with hamstring complaints meaning they are touch and go for the clash with the Capital One Cup semi-finalists.

Morgan's possible absence, along with McClure and Grant means player/manager Gareth Ainsworth could be short of attacking options for this weekend's match.

There is some good news for the 39-year-old though with Anthony Stewart having returned to full training following a thigh injury.

Bradford winger Kyel Reid could return to league action on Saturday after a lengthy injury lay-off.

Reid, sidelined for two-and-a-half months with a serious groin injury, played for almost an hour in Bradford's FA Cup replay defeat to League One promotion chasers Brentford and is expected to feature.

Striker Zavon Hines, who returned as a substitute in Saturday's league draw at Southend after a seven-match lay-off due to an ankle injury, made his first start since mid-November against Brentford and could continue in the side.

Reid lasted just under an hour at Brentford as boss Phil Parkinson ponders a string of changes, with goalkeeper Matt Duke and strikers Nahki Wells and James Hanson among those expected to return against Wycombe.

The Bantams, in fifth place, have lost only one of their last seven league games.
