Jack Redshaw: Pushing for a start

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Morecambe and AFC Wimbledon at the Globe Arena.

Jack Redshaw is pushing for a start for Morecambe.

The Shrimps' top scorer has been a second-half substitute in the club's last two matches after returning from a calf problem and is looking to be recalled into the starting line-up.

Redshaw will compete with Lewis Alessandra to partner Richard Brodie in attack.

Defender Robbie Threlfall was an unused substitute for the midweek defeat at Northampton and is hoping to make his first start since the beginning of October after recovering from a thigh complaint.

Morecambe have not lost at home in the league since September and put four past Barnet in their last outing in front of their own supporters.

Striker Jordan Burrow remains unavailable with a knee injury.

AFC Wimbledon manager Neil Ardley could hand debuts to Paul McCallum, Toby Ajala and Ryan Hervel.

McCallum, 19, moved from West Ham to the Dons on Thursday, and he was followed by Bristol City winger Ajala and former Kettering midfielder Ryan Hervel.

The trio penned short-term deals at the League Two club and will go straight into Ardley's match-day squad.

Defenders Jim Fenlon and Norwich loanee George Francomb passed late fitness tests to start in the midweek 4-0 defeat to Southend and barring any adverse reaction should feature again.

Warren Cummings missed that match through injury but will be given a chance to prove his fitness ahead of Saturday. Should he miss out Huw Johnson could fill in at the back.
