Norburn: Suspended for Rovers
Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Bristol Rovers and Chesterfield at the Memorial Stadium.
Bristol Rovers will be without Oliver Norburn after the midfielder saw red in the 3-2 defeat to Southend on Tuesday.
But Tom Eaves (knee) and Matthew Lund (Achilles) are expected to be passed fit despite both sitting out training on Thursday.
One player who was passed fit to be in the squad on Tuesday was Danny Woodards, on the bench for the first time since the former MK Dons man broke his leg on the final day of last season.
But that defeat to Southend at the Memorial means there is only one point separating his side from the bottom of the table, but McGhee is keen to make sure his side does not panic.
He told Rovers' official website: "You cannot get desperate, because if you get desperate you make bad decisions. We have to stay calm. We want to get wins and get up the league, we want to give the fans something to be positive about."
New loan signing Ben Dickenson will go straight into the Chesterfield squad on Saturday.
The teenager, who can play on either wing or through the middle as a striker, will start on the bench with manager Paul Cook set to name an unchanged team at the Memorial Stadium. The Spireites made it three consecutive clean sheets on the road with a 0-0 draw at Bradford on Tuesday night. Despite not creating a great number of chances in West Yorkshire, Cook is keeping faith with his players.
"We'll line up the same again on Saturday, I think the lads have certainly earned that right," he said at his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.
"For the likes of Scott Boden, Rands [Mark Randall] and [Danny] Whitaker, they certainly worked hard enough on Tuesday night. It wasn't a game where they could influence it greatly and the easiest thing to do would be to say to them, 'Oh you haven't played well. But their performance last Saturday [in the 6-1 FA Cup win over Hartlepool] at home has given them the right to play again."
The Rovers game will come too quickly for goalkeeper Tommy Lee (shoulder) and defender Liam Cooper, who has a knock, but the pair should be ready for action when Oxford visit the Proact Stadium on November 17.
Cook also confirmed that there is positive news on strikers Luis Boa Morte (groin) and Marc Richards (hamstring) who, again, will not make Saturday but are "improving" and are not too far away. Midfielder Mark Allott (hamstring) remains a couple of weeks away, though.
