Mangan: Cod Army's only doubt

Mangan: Cod Army's only doubt

Team news ahead of Tuesday night's League Two clash between York and Fleetwood Town at Bootham Crescent.

York manager Gary Mills will choose his starting line-up for the home game from an unchanged squad.

Mills, who has no new injury or suspension problems, has several selection dilemmas with both central defender Clarke Carlisle and midfielder Jonathan Smith keen to return to the side.

Clarke missed the recent home draw with Cheltenham due to an ankle injury, but despite a return to fitness was left out of the side on Saturday, with Mills opting to stick with replacement Chris Doig, who helped keep another clean sheet alongside skipper Chris Smith.

Jonathan Smith made way for striker Matty Blair, who revelled in a new central midfield role and scored the opening goal at the weekend.

Smith was left out altogether at Aldershot, but is expected to return to the squad.

Former Norwich striker Oli Johnson made his first appearance for the club as an 89th-minute substitute on Saturday after recovering from a groin injury and should be on the bench again.

Andy Mangan is Fleetwood's only injury worry.

The 26-year-old striker picked up a knock in training last week and missed the 2-1 victory over Barnet at the weekend.

With fellow forwards David Ball and Tom Barkhuizen both scoring in the win, and Jon Parkin back fully fit, Cod Army boss Micky Mellon is not expected to rush Mangan back into the team.

Parkin had a hamstring problem last week and was a doubt ahead of the Barnet game, but came through unscathed from a 15-minute cameo after being named among the subs.

Mellon could choose to return the forward to the line-up if he feels the team needs freshening up.

Fleetwood's only other injury problem is Anthony Barry, who remains sidelined long-term with a knee injury.
