Liddle: Suspended for Reds

Liddle: Suspended for Reds

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Accrington Stanley and Aldershot at Crown Ground.

Accrington will be without suspended defensive duo Michael Liddle and Toto Nsiala.

Liddle begins a three-match ban after being given his marching orders in Tuesday night's 4-3 defeat at Chesterfield, while Nsiala picked up a fifth booking of the season.

Lee Molyneux is likely to revert to left-back in Liddle's absence, strengthening the claims of on-loan Watford duo Matthew Whichelow and Piero Mingoia to earn their first starts in midfield.

Forward James Gray has stepped up his involvement in training following illness and could feature.

George Miller (thigh) will miss out in midfield once more and defender Dean Winnard remains sidelined with an unspecified complaint.

Stanley currently occupy the final play-off spot on goal difference but are without a win in three matches.

Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth will be tempted to keep faith with an unchanged XI.

Holdsworth finally watched his side record their first league victory since the opening day of the season as they brushed aside Barnet 1-0 in midweek, saluting an "excellent" performance.

And he is unlikely to see any need for change at the Crown Ground.

Influential striker Danny Hylton finally returned from his eight-match suspension for racial abuse and was thrown straight in alongside matchwinner Craig Reid in attack. Hylton's inclusion was one of two changes, with midfielder Josh Payne also recalled.

Holdsworth does have options should he wish to freshen things up, with the likes of Aaron Morris, Peter Vincenti, Kwesi Appiah and Scott Donnelly all knocking on the door. Goalkeeper Ross Worner (back) and midfielder Craig Stanley (broken leg) remain long-term absentees.
