Carter: Could make Robins debut

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Aldershot and Cheltenham at the Recreation Ground.

Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth is sweating over the availability of three players as he prepares to welcome Cheltenham.

Defender Olly Lancashire (calf), midfielder Peter Vincenti (back) and striker Craig Reid (calf) are all rated as 50/50, with the latter forced off shortly before half-time in Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat to Exeter.

Midfielder Alex Rodman was also withdrawn with an ankle injury just before the hour mark and left the stadium on crutches, but although he is doubtful for this weekend, the problem is not as bad as first feared.

Star striker Danny Hylton serves the fourth game of his eight-match suspension for racial abuse.

Defender Guy Branston (calf) remains sidelined, as do long-term absentees Craig Stanley (broken leg) and Ross Worner (back).

Darren Carter will go straight into Cheltenham's squad.

The former Birmingham midfielder agreed terms with the Robins on Friday and may be in line for his debut.

Carter had a torrid time with injury last season and has never played in League Two before.

Defender Alan Bennett remains doubtful having only resumed training this week and may be short of match fitness.

But youngster Harry Hooman has been in excellent form so far and is expected to keep Bennett on the bench should he return. Fellow defender Keith Lowe also provides further cover at the back.

Manager Mark Yates has no further injury or suspension worries ahead of a tough clash at the Recreation Ground.
