Macklin: Could be recalled for clash

Macklin: Could be recalled for clash

Team news for Tuesday's League Two clash between Torquay United and Cheltenham Town at Plainmoor.

Torquay boss Martin Ling may recall Lloyd Macklin into his starting XI.

The attacker had to settle for a place on the bench for Saturday's goalless draw at Fleetwood after returning from a knee injury.

But Macklin may take up his position on the wing with Tom Cruise moved back into a more defensive role.

Former Arsenal man Cruise, who is a full-back by trade, operated on the left-wing against the Cod Army to good effect with Billy Bodin on the opposite flank.

Defender Danny Stevens is still short of fitness as he recovers from a thigh strain but may return on the bench while Saul Halpin remains sidelined after visiting a specialist about his troublesome ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Cheltenham boss Mark Yates is expected to name an unchanged side.

The Robins made a solid start to the season with a 2-0 win over Dagenham last weekend and it could be the same again at Plainmoor.

Yates is still without full-time skipper Alan Bennett, who is nearing match fitness, so Marlon Pack will lead out the side again.

Defender Harry Hooman should continue in Bennett's absence after impressing at the weekend alongside Steve Elliott.

Keith Lowe provides further competition in that area but Hooman is expected to get the nod.

Yates has no further injury or suspension worries ahead of a tough clash at Plainmoor.
