Swindon v Stevenage preview

Image: Simon Ferry: Struggling to shrug off hamstring injury

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Swindon and Stevenage at the County Ground.

The hosts are sweating over the fitness of Simon Ferry and Luke Rooney ahead of this weekend's clash. Three points against Boro would be a huge boost to the Robins' play-off prospects but they may have to manage without midfielder Ferry, who has a hamstring injury, and Rooney, who has a shoulder problem. Alan Navarro will miss this match with a hamstring tear while Tommy Miller is also unavailable with a calf problem which has kept him out since the MK Dons clash. Manager Kevin MacDonald already has a lengthy injury list with Nathan Thompson, Troy Archibald-Henville, Miles Storey, Jay McEveley, Aaron Oakley and Louis Thompson ruled out for the rest of the season. Swindon's morale-boosting 4-1 win over Crewe in midweek has given them a four-point cushion over seventh-placed MK Dons. The visitors will still be without Robin Shroot, Jon Ashton and Greg Tansey. Midfielder Shroot misses out again with the ankle injury he suffered against Hartlepool on Easter Monday and defender Ashton remains a long-term absentee with an Achilles problem. Tansey is recovering well after a recent groin operation and although the Swindon trip will come to soon, the midfielder is on course to return against MK Dons on the final day of the season. Boss Graham Westley could make changes after suffering his first defeat since he returned to Broadhall Way against Yeovil last weekend. With neither the play-offs nor relegation to worry about, Westley may take a look at the likes of Lee Hills, Miguel Comminges and Marcus Haber from the start.
