David Gray: Banned for Boro

David Gray: Banned for Boro

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Stevenage and Sheffield United at Broadhall Way.

Stevenage are without defenders David Gray and Darius Charles.

Full-back Gray completes a two-match ban for collecting 10 yellow cards this season and centre-half Charles serves a one-match suspension after he was sent off against Bournemouth in midweek.

But James Dunne returns from a ban and fellow midfielder Gavin Mahon hopes to shake off the knock which kept him out of Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat.

Boss Gary Smith has also recalled defender Bondz N'Gala and striker Dani Lopez from their loan spells at Barnet.

Lee Hills should keep his place in the side in Gray's absence while N'Gala or Andy Iro, who also had a loan stint with Barnet recently, could step in for Charles.

Sheffield United striker Chris Porter is hoping to return to contention at Stevenage following his return from his loan spell at Shrewsbury.

Porter, who made five appearances for the Shrews during a month-long stay, is likely to return to the squad.

Manager Danny Wilson may want to freshen up his line-up following the goalless home draw with MK Dons last weekend.

On-loan strikers Dominic Poleon and Jonathan Forte are both pushing for recalls after starting on the bench.

Forte, on loan from Southampton, had missed the previous four games due to a groin strain and Leeds forward Poleon started on the bench.

Wilson must decide whether to recall Danny Higginbotham following illness or retain Matt Hill in defence.

Meanwhile, teenage striker Diego De Girolamo could miss the rest of the season after damaging his knee last week playing for Italy Under-18s.

The Blades, unbeaten in their last eight matches, could return to the top of the table with victory if Doncaster lose to Portsmouth.
