Greg Tansey: Pushing for a starting berth

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Stevenage and Colchester at Broadhall Way.

Greg Tansey could return to the Stevenage starting line-up.

The midfielder had missed two matches after suffering bruised ribs but returned as a late substitute in Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat by Scunthorpe.

Winger Filipe Morais could also be added to the squad if he can shake off the knock which kept him out in midweek, but defender Jon Ashton remains sidelined by an Achilles injury.

Boss Gary Smith could make further changes after his side's losing streak was extended to five matches.

Sam Hoskins, Marcus Haber, Miguel Comminges and Lee Hills are among the players pushing for recalls while Andy Iro could make his Boro debut after recently returning from a loan spell with Barnet.

Colchester are confident defender Bradley Garmston will be fit for the trip to Stevenage.

The on-loan left-back was forced off late on in Tuesday's welcome 2-0 victory over Yeovil due to muscle soreness, bringing an end to an impressive display which helped record the club's first win in three attempts.

Boss Joe Dunne told the U's official website: "I think it was just a case of him using parts of his body that he hasn't used to that extent for a while.

"The intensity of first-team games is very different to the Under-21 games he had played before, but he should be fine."

Captain Kem Izzet enjoyed 65 minutes upon his long-awaited return from an ankle injury for the club's Under-21 side at Ipswich on Monday night and could possibly make the bench.
