Baxter: Suspended

Baxter: Suspended

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Oldham and Shrewsbury at Boundary Park.

Youssouf M'Changama, Jonathan Grounds and Matt Smith are all pushing for recalls to the Oldham starting line-up.

With leading goalscorer Jose Baxter and West Ham loanee Cristian Montano suspended, Latics boss Paul Dickov will be forced to make changes to his team.

Dickov's men earned a crucial 2-1 victory at fellow strugglers Hartlepool on Tuesday night, but the winning formula will have to be broken when the Shrews come to Boundary Park.

M'Changama is in line to replace Montano, with Smith expected to deputise for Baxter in attack, but left-back Grounds is not guaranteed an immediate recall from suspension as youngster Connor Brown has impressed in his absence.

Robbie Simpson is a major doubt with a pelvis injury.

Reserve goalkeeper Alex Cisak's loan move to Portsmouth presents teenager Liam Jacob with a place on the bench as Dean Bouzanis continues between the sticks.

Cameron Gayle will be hoping to make his Shrewsbury debut at Oldham.

The defender arrived on loan from West Brom on Thursday and goes straight into manager Graham Turner's travelling party for the clash at Boundary Park.

Winger Jeremy Helan is unavailable having been recalled early from his loan spell by Manchester City and subsequently sent out to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, with the Frenchman's stay in Shropshire due to expire after this weekend.

Midfielder Paul Parry again misses out with a hip injury while defender Lee Collins will be assessed having sat out Tuesday's 2-2 draw with MK Dons due to illness.

Centre-backs Darren Jones and Julian Bennett both passed fitness tests on respective thigh and back problems to face the Dons and expect to be involved once again.

Manager Graham Turner has kept faith with an unchanged side for the last two games - Saturday's 1-0 win over Crewe and the midweek draw in which Town conceded an injury-time equaliser - and he may well send out the same XI once more.
