Mirfin: Ruled out

Mirfin: Ruled out

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Coventry and Scunthorpe at Ricoh Arena.

Scunthorpe defender David Mirfin will miss the game at Coventry due to a knee injury.

Mirfin was absent for the midweek win at Walsall after damaging his knee in last Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Gillingham and is now waiting for scan results to learn the full extent of damage.

Manager Brian Laws, who will take charge of his third game since his recent return to Glanford Park for a third time, will also be without suspended midfielder David Prutton, who sits out the first of a three-game ban following his dismissal against the Saddlers.

Victory at Walsall was the Iron's first success in eight league matches and Laws will not want to make too many changes.

French midfielder Damien Mozika could make his first start of the season following a long-term ankle injury after stepping off the bench at Walsall for his second appearance of the season.

Goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall, on loan from Millwall, made his debut in midweek and is expected to retain his place.

Coventry manager Mark Robins will be hard pushed to make any changes.

The Sky Blues recorded arguably their finest result of the season on Tuesday night as they saw off then third-placed Crawley 3-1.

Robins welcomed back leading scorer David McGoldrick, fellow loanee James Bailey - both of whom were ineligible for the 3-0 FA Cup triumph over Arlesey - defender Richard Wood and striker Cody McDonald.

And he is likely to name an unchanged XI as City look to record a third successive home victory in a week.

Coventry currently find themselves 19th in League One, their joint-highest position since the second weekend of the season, and another win over third-bottom Scunthorpe would be a fourth on the spin in all competitions.
