Jacobson: Ruled out for Shrews

Jacobson: Ruled out for Shrews

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Shrewsbury and Swindon at Greenhous Meadow.

Joe Jacobson is out for Shrewsbury, with new signing Lee Collins set to step in.

Full-back Jacobson will be missing for between four to six weeks after suffering an ankle injury in training, with Collins brought in on loan as cover from Barnsley.

With no other new injuries, boss Graham Turner must decide whether to make just the one enforced change or hand recalls to the likes of Mark Wright or Rob Purdie.

Shrews will come up against striker James Collins for the first time since he rejected a new deal over the summer to complete a switch to Swindon, coming after his 14 goals last season helped the Shropshire club claim promotion alongside Paolo Di Canio's side.

And emotions are sure to be high after last week's tribunal for the transfer ruled Shrewsbury will receive merely an initial £140,000 for the 21-year-old's services, a price labelled as derisory by the club.

Darren Ward will return to Swindon's squad as they look to build on their midweek victory in the Capital One Cup.

Centre-back Ward joined Paolo Di Canio's side on a loan deal from Millwall until January last month, but his involvement in the Capital One Cup meant he missed the victory over Burnley.

His replacement Troy Archibald-Henville scored the third goal as the Robins added the Clarets to their other scalps of Brighton and Stoke.

That victory ensured Di Canio's men set up a fourth-round clash with Aston Villa, and the Italian must decide whether to change a winning line-up.

Should he neglect to alter the XI which defeated Burnley, striker James Collins will miss out.

That seems like a distinct possibility, too, after his replacement Paul Benson grabbed the opening goal in their cup shock.
