  1. Good lord, that was a poor game. A point apiece was probably about right. The report and reaction will be online soon. Thanks for sticking with us.

  2. Full-time: Stoke 0-0 West Brom

  3. 90+3

Great chance for Stoke as Jones takes a high ball with his chest before prodding a shot straight at Foster. That's surely the last chance.

  4. 88

I can tell you right now who I'm going to give the man of the match to: Ben Foster. He's dominated his box against a serious aerial bombardment and has spread confidence throughout his defence. Meanwhile, Stoke have another free-kick, this time 20 yards out, after Ridgewell felled Walters. Here comes Adam again ... but he hits the wall again.

  5. 87

.... close call! Adam's free-kick squirmed to Ryan Shawcross, who drew a superb save from Ben Foster, but it didn't matter because the Stoke defender was flagged for offside. As you were.

  6. 86

Now then. Chance for Stoke with a free-kick, dead centre, 25 yards out...

  7. Final change for West Brom as Marc-Antoine Fortune replaces James Morrison.

  8. 81

Odemwingie tries his luck with a shot from distance but Begovic was right behind it. Up at the other end, Adam has just steered a side-footed volley embarrassingly over the bar. Are we going to get a goal in the last 10 minutes? I can't see it at this rate.

  9. 80

Great chance for Stoke now as Marc Wilson heads narrowly wide from a left-wing corner. It's absolutely hosing it down at the Britannia right now. Awful conditions.

  10. 76

Close call for West Brom as Long switches the play from left to right, where Mulumbu takes a touch and lets a right-foot shot from 22 yards fly. It started out on target but swerved high and wide at the death. Decent effort.

  11. Shane Long replaces Lukaku for West Brom.

  12. Charlie Adam replaces Jerome for Stoke.

  13. 75

It's West Brom asking all the questions at the moment and while they are looking more penetrative than Stoke did in the first half, they are struggling to create clear-cut chances.

  14. 71

Disappointing passage from West Brom just now. They broke three on three but, for some reason, Odemwingie decided to check and play a square pass. From there, the visitors passed the ball too slowly and the opportunity eventually ended with Brunt firing a lame shot wide. Odemwingie should have continued to move it forward at pace.

  15. 68

The game has slowed back down again now - not really helped by the substitutions. But as I write, Odemwingie fires a left-foot shot goalwards from 20 yards. Begovic saw it early, though, and got down well to make the save.

  16. Peter Odemwingie replaces Jerome Thomas for West Brom.

  17. 66

One thing I have noticed today is Ben Foster's total control of his box. Any ball lingering in the air has been authoritatively claimed by the West Brom keeper, who has looked really solid.

  18. 64

    Jones replaces Peter Crouch.

  19. 62

Great chance for West Brom as a deflected free-kick falls to Morrison on the right, whose cross is deflected by Begovic on to the face of Lukaku, who then rebounds it narrowly over the bar. Major let-off for Stoke. Kenwyne Jones is about to come on.

  20. 59

The tempo of the game has risen as Stoke try to match West Brom's upping of the pace. Stoke seem to have weathered the visitors' storm.

  21. Etherington booked for a late challenge on Mulumbu.

  22. 54

Fantastic chance for West Brom as Thomas plays the overlapping Liam Ridgewell down the left wing. The full-back planted his cross right on Lukaku's head - but amazingly, the Belgian failed to make contact and Marc Wilson was able to clear over his own bar. West Brom have gone up at least two gears here.

  23. 52

West Brom are definitely looking a lot brighter and more positive here in this second half. Brunt has just raked a beauty of a cross-field pass to Morrison on the right wing, but his low cross couldn't reach Lukaku. Stoke stretched there.

  24. 47

Great chance for West Brom as Thomas swings in a cross from the left wing for Romelu Lukaku to send a downward header goalwards - but straight at Begovic. Straight up the other end, Crouch has just looped a header after a left-wing cross over.

  25. Change for Stoke as Dean Whitehead replaces Glenn Whelan.

  26. 46

And we're back under way at the Britannia.

  27. Go and get yourselves a cup of tea and say a short prayer for a better second half. That was seriously drab. Help me spice this commentary up by letting me know what you think - do West Brom need to attack more? Should Stoke send on Jones and Owen? Tweet me @MattSkyCycling or e-mail

  28. Half-time: Stoke 0-0 West Brom

  29. 46

James Morrison booked for a high boot on Glenn Whelan. Morrison was going honestly for the ball but his foot was too high and he was a touch late.

  30. 45

If all Premier League games were put into a table, this match would be in serious danger of relegation and had its manager sacked. Terrible, terrible game. Two minutes added time.

  31. 43

That's been coming from the first minute: Shotton booked for the latest in a string of over-zealous challenges.

  32. 40

If you've noted that I haven't mentioned any chances for a while - that's because there haven't been any. But wait ... Stoke bomb one into the box, West Brom struggle to clear, cue goalmouth scramble, Etherington swings a boot at the ball, but then Foster finally gets his hands on it. Excitement over.

  33. 38

The other thing worth noting is that West Brom have defended superbly so far. They've had to deal with no end of crosses but have safely cleared all but the one that Crouch headed over a few moments ago. Very well-drilled.

  34. 35

Fair play to Stoke, they've put a massive amount of energy and commitment into this game so far. It's probably not surprising given their woeful form that they are just lacking a cutting edge up front. West Brom are playing on the counter and can't get a prolonged spell on the ball.

  35. 34

Brunt is booked for time-wasting. The Northern Irishman protests furiously but the decision is made.

  36. 32

Another chance for Stoke as Jerome swivels and shoots inside the box from an angle on the right, but he hooked it too much and it ran out for a throw-in on the opposite side of the pitch.

  37. 31

West Brom are simply being out-competed here. All of the urgency and tackling is coming from Stoke. The problem for the hosts, though, is they are totally bereft of creativity. Their best bet for a goal is from a set piece.

  38. 28

Chance for Stoke from a corner but Peter Crouch scooped his header from eight yards over the bar. To be fair to him, the ball was just behind him, so he had to reach to make contact. As I write, Jon Walters sees a right-foot shot from 22 yards deflected narrowly wide of the post. Ben Foster in the West Brom goal was seriously worried and beaten. Close call. Stoke pushing hard now.

  39. 25

Steven N'Zonzi has just played the worst pass I've ever seen. Charging forward into the left channel, he checked and looked to spread it 20 yards wide to Etherington on the right, but instead ballooned the ball 50 yards out of play. Horrendous.

  40. 23

Midway point of the first half and I won't lie to you, this game is a real stinker. No flow, no skill of note to admire, few chances, lots of tackling, lots of headed clearances. Far from a classic.

  41. 19

West Brom need to recompose themselves here and start knocking the ball around because they have dropped their level after a good start. And as I write, they duly do exactly that, neatly playing it out from the back to Thomas on the left wing, but nothing came of it. Better from the visitors.

  42. 16

Hopeful claims for a red card for Ben Foster after he carried the ball outside of the box at full tilt. However, he had been shoulder-barged in the back by Jerome and the free-kick was rightly given against the Stoke striker.

  43. 14

Youssouf Mulumbu just got away with a lapse of concentration after allowing Geoff Cameron to shoot at goal from the left corner of the box after a throw-in. Fortunately for the West Brom man, Cameron scooped his volley high and wide. Stoke on top.

  44. 11

The game has settled down now after early attacks at both ends and it's now a case of the two teams probing for weaknesses in each other's ranks. Stoke are now the more assertive outfit.

  45. 8

Decent spell of pressure from Stoke now as they repeatedly play it wide and bomb balls into the box, but they are being routinely headed clear.

  46. 5

Great chance for West Brom now after a slick move played Brunt through on goal, but his low, left-footed shot was straight at Asmir Begovic in the Stoke goal.

  47. 4

Chance for Stoke at the other end as Matthew Etherington swings in a cross from the left for Cameron Jerome to head over from the penalty spot. Stoke have finally woken up after a slow start.

  48. 3

The first shot at goal comes from the left boot of West Brom's Chris Brunt from all of 35 yards, but it was an over-ambitious volley and flew way over.

  49. 2

Positive start from West Brom and Ryan Shotton has just been very lucky not to get booked after chopping down Jerome Thomas, who had rolled him on the left wing far too easily. It was actually only a yard outside of the box.

  50. 1

And we're under way at the Britannia, with West Brom kicking off.

  51. The teams are just emerging from the tunnel, so we're only a couple of minutes away from kick-off now.

  52. The Baggies are only four points behind fifth place Arsenal and still harbour an outside hope of a top six finish (10/1). The Potters have also gone eight matches without a clean sheet so with the visitors are not short of goals on the road, the 5/6 on both teams to score looks a solid bet.

  53. It's not all bad news for West Brom fans, though, because Stoke are badly out of form, losing seven of their last nine Barclays Premier League games (W1 D1).

  54. Fifteen minutes to go until kick-off at the Britannia. This could well be a good day for the home fans, because Stoke average 2.29 points per game against West Brom in the Premier League. Only against Blackburn (2.38) have they had more joy.

  55. West Brom team: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell; Yacob, Mulumbu; Thomas, Morrison, Brunt; Lukaku. Subs: Myhill, Long, Rosenberg, Popov, Fortune, Tamas, Odemwingie.

  56. Stoke team: Begovic; Shotton, Shawcross, Wilson, Cameron; Jerome, Whelan, Nzonzi, Etherington; Walters, Crouch. Subs: Sorensen, Jones, Owen, Adam, Whitehead, Kightly, Wilkinson.
