Newcastle are roared on for the final minute or so but are unable to break down Swansea's resistance for a second time and the final whistle goes. The Swans run out 2-1 winners and now move above the Magpies following an exciting encounter at St James' Park.
GOAL Is there still time for Newcastle after all? Sylvain Marveaux crashes a shot against the bar from Hatem Ben Arfa's pull-back and Demba Ba heads home to make it 2-1.
GOAL Tim Krul does well to keep out an angled drive from Danny Graham but the rebound falls nicely for Jonathan de Guzman to tuck in an easy finish and double Swansea's lead.
Michael Laudrup makes a change with just a few minutes remaining and it is goal-scorer Michu who is taken off to be replaced by Danny Graham.
Alan Pardew shuffles his pack for a third and final time, bringing on Sylvain Marveaux for Sammy Ameobi.
With 15 minutes remaining, Sky Bet make Newcastle 11/4 to salvage a draw and 16/1 to come back and win.
