Tony Pulis: First took charge of Stoke 10 years ago this week

Norwich City will be looking to maintain their encouraging run of form when they entertain a Stoke City side just above them in the Premier League table.

Chris Hughton's Canaries were being written off as one of the favourites for relegation after picking up just three points from their first seven games, but they have moved out of the bottom three in recent weeks.

The turning point was an impressive 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Carrow Road, while last weekend's 1-1 draw with former manager Paul Lambert's Aston Villa was another step in the right direction.

Norwich kept the momentum going with a dramatic win against Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup in midweek, and now have an opportunity to climb above the Potters if they collect three points on Saturday.

Stoke will be satisfied with their start to the season, having faced most of the top teams and suffered only two defeats, but will feel it is now time to push on.

A goalless draw at home to Sunderland last time out left Tony Pulis' men with one victory from nine matches, while they have scored just eight league goals.

This week marked 10 years since Pulis first took charge at the Britannia Stadium, although he was sacked in 2005 before returning a year later following Peter Coates' takeover.

Norwich defender Russell Martin is making a good recovery from his back injury and could be fit to face Stoke at Carrow Road after missing the midweek match against Tottenham.

Manager Chris Hughton may decide to retain a number of the players who starred in Wednesday's Capital One Cup clash, while Simeon Jackson will also hope to feature after coming on to net the winner.

Striker Harry Kane, on loan from Spurs, is on course to return before Christmas following foot surgery.

Andy Wilkinson is expected to fill in at left-back against the Canaries for Marc Wilson, who is set to be out of action for three months after sustaining a fractured left fibula in last Saturday's 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

Midfielder Glenn Whelan was not deemed fit enough to take part in that match but is now available for selection again having recovered from his hamstring problem.

Potters manager Tony Pulis has indicated winger Matthew Etherington - used mostly as a substitute this term - could be line for a return to the first XI.
