   And that's it! West Brom put Liverpool to the sword on the opening day of the new season. Jubilation for Steve Clarke as West Brom earn victory on the first day of the season for the first time since 1971! It's heartbreak for Brendan Rodgers, though, and the boss will have a very down dressing room on his hand. It's finished West Brom 3, Liverpool 0.    A bit of pushing going on between Carroll and Olsson now, with the Reds striker eventually going into the referee's book for unsporting behaviour.

   The Liverpool players look like they're only interested in hearing the full-time whistle now as they win possession in the middle of the field, but there's no real effort to get the ball up front, and the Baggies eventually win back possession.

   The Baggies are more than happy to just hang on to the ball now, and the home fans are enjoying it thoroughly, cheering every successful pass, and there's been plenty of those.

   The possession stats read 70% to West Brom now, which is a huge turnaround from the first-half, which the Reds dominated 60-40.

   Borini is behind a Liverpool corner which is initially dealt with, while Steven Gerrard's attempted snap-shot is well blocked on the edge of the area.

   The Reds are in real danger of going in further behind as they just don't seem to have an answer for the West Brom attack. This time, though, Reina is able to get to the ball ahead of Lukaka and does well to hold on.

   Liverpool seem to have given up all hope as they allow Fortune to run at goal and get his shot off, but he can't keep his effort down and the ball fizzes well over.

    Fortune is played clean through on goal, but Reina does well to thwart the player's shot from just inside the area.

    Change for West Brom now as James Morrison makes way for Chris Brunt.

    Liverpool should have scored now as Borini picks out Suarez with a delightful clipped pass, but the striker can't direct his header and the ball flies wide of the mark.

    Lukaka is through on goal again but his shot is blocked and West Brom have a corner. The delivery is not very good though and the defence are able to deal with it.

    Joe Cole is unable to continue following that earlier foul, and Andy Carroll comes on in his place.

    It's a debut goal for Lukaka as the corner is initially dealt with, but the ball is played back in to the far post where the substitute is on hand to head home the hosts' third of the afternoon.

    What a miss from West Brom! Lukaka wins possession out wide and breaks down the wing before squaring the ball to Gera, and although the striker is completely unmarked and has the entire goal to aim for, he can't keep his effort down and curls his shot well wide.

    Penalty appeals from Liverpool now as Martin Kelly goes down inside the area, but the referee is not interested and waves play-on, eliciting a huge cheer from the home fans.
