Robinson: Made mistake

A dreadful error by former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson gifted Accrington a 1-0 friendly win at home to Blackburn on Saturday.

Rovers - who earlier beat Fleetwood 2-0 with a different XI on a day of pre-season action at the Crown Ground - fell behind in the second half when Brian Smikle directed a header straight at Robinson, only for it to squirm through his grasp and into the net.

Portuguese trialist Edinho Junior came off the bench for Rovers shortly afterwards and the 18-year-old almost salvaged a draw when he rattle a post in the final minute.
