Sochaux celebrate their second goal
Troyes' winless start to the Ligue 1 season continued as Sochaux condemned the promoted side to their fourth defeat in six outings following their return to the top flight.
Sebastien Roudet, Thierry Doubai and Cedric Bakambu were on target for Sochaux, who climb out of the relegation zone after their second successive win.
Julien Faussurier struck Troyes' consolation in the first half, but the dismissal of Jean Christophe Bahrebeck for an ugly challenge on Sebastien Corchia in the 56th minute was a setback from which the rock-bottom visitors were unable to recover.
The home side needed just eight minutes to go in front as Roy Contout sent over a perfect cross that Roudet volleyed home from 12 yards.
Troyes found an equaliser on 34 minutes, Faussurier turning the ball home on the volley at the far post after connecting with Fabrice N'Sakala's centre.
Sochaux restored their lead in the 54th minute when the visiting defence failed to deal with Roudet's cross, the ball eventually breaking to Doubai who lashed home a powerful effort.
Troyes' night took a further nosedive two minutes later when Bahrebeck received a straight red for a nasty tackle from behind on Corchia.
The home side spurned a chance to make it three in the 64th minute when Corchia's penalty - awarded after former Sochaux defender Jeremie Brechet fouled Bakambu - was pushed onto the post by Yohann Thuram-Ulien.
But the hosts did wrap up the scoring in the 70th minute to put the game out of Troyes' reach, the unmarked Bakambu nodding home powerfully from Roudet's cross.
