Estonia fail to trouble hosts

Croatia warmed up for the European Championship with a comfortable 3-1 friendly victory over Estonia, with Tottenham defender Vedran Corluka among the scorers. The home side played without star duo Luka Modric and Ivica Olic for the Stadion Aldo Drosina clash but still managed to dominate proceedings, with coach Slaven Bilic using the match to test a few inexperienced players named in his preliminary squad. Corluka, wearing the captain's armband, opened the scoring in the 16th minute and Nikola Kalinic added another two minutes later from an Eduardo da Silva assist. Ognjen Vukojevic wrapped up Croatia's scoring 10 minutes from time when he fired home from just inside the penalty box. Estonia pulled one back in the 83rd minute but it was no more than a consolation goal, with Konstantin Vasillev's shot taking a slight deflection off Vukojevic into the net. Croatia will continue their preparations in a friendly against Norway in Oslo next week before their Euro 2012 Group C campaign gets underway against Republic of Ireland on June 10th.
