  1. FT

No matter. The 2-1 win is enough to see Sudan go through to the quarter-finals of the 2012 AFCON tournament against all odds, edging out Angola on goal difference.

  2. A free-kick is headed home by Ouedraogo with the Sudan keeper in no man's land!

  3. 90+7

    GOAL Burkina Faso! Issiaka Ouedraogo!

  4. 90+5

Sudan sub: Amir Kamal on for Muhannad Tahir

  5. 90+3

Sudan sub: Mohamed Bashir is replaced by Ramadan Agab.

  6. 85

Surely that's secured Sudan's spot in the last eight. They now have a superior goal difference over Angola, who trail Ivory coast 2-0. However, Burkina continue to push forward and Issiaka Ouedraogo has a great chance to pull one back, but his shot is way off target.

  7. Another disastrous lapse in concentration in the Burkina Faso defence gifts Mudathir El-Tahir with his second goal of the game. A long goal kick from Akram was allowed to bounce by his opposite number Diakite and Mudathir sneaked in to take the loose ball away from the gloveman before placing it into the back of the empty net.

  8. 80

    GOAL Sudan! Mudathir El-Tahir!

  9. 79

Burkina make another substitution: Benjamin Balima on for Djakaridja Kone.

  10. 75

Muhannad Tahir forces a rare save from Burkina goalkeeper Daouda Diakite, who palms away the venomous long-range attempt. Faso attack on the left but their cross is grabbed out of the air by Akram.

  11. 70

Great news for Sudan coming in from Malabo. Ivory Coast have made it 2-0 against Angola, which means as it stands Sudan will go through. Big scare as Burkina's Dagano finally finds the back of the net with his header from a free-kick! But it's disallowed as he was clearly off-side.

  12. 67

Yellow card for Sudan's Saif Eldin.

  13. 66

Burkina sub: 16-year-old Bertrand Traore on for Narcisse Yameogo.

  14. 65

Ahmed Al-Basha marauds down the right wing and cuts inside before firing his shot at goal, but it is an acute angle and his attempt flies across the face of goal harmlessly.

  15. 60

Best chance of the half! Faso substitute Issiaka Ouedraogo is put through on goal with a clever back-heel through-ball, but his shot is wide of the near post. Should've been 1-1. Dagano rises high to get his head to yet another cross but again his attempt is wide of the target.

  16. 56

Not a lot of continuity in the play at the moment. Too many of the passes are going astray, while the build-ups have been slow and predictable.

  17. 55

Burkina Faso sub: Issiaka Ouedraogo on for Prejuce Nakoulma.

  18. 50

Promising play early on as Sudan surge down the left wing through Moseab Omer. They win the corner but Burkina survive as they win a free-kick. The Falcons are looking more comfortable on the ball and have enjoyed a good spell of possession.

  19. 46

Sudan kick off the second half.

  20. HT

Jonathan Pitroipa has a chance to level matters as he powers into the Sudan area, but his strike is weak and goes straight at Akram El Hadi. Sudan are fortunate to be ahead at the half-way stage. They netted their only opportunity while Faso have looked much more effective going forward. The Falcons should be delighted with the scoreline.

  21. 40

Good news for Sudan coming in from Malabo, where Emmanuel Eboue has put Ivory Coast in front. As it stands, Sudan are now level on points and goal difference with Group B rivals Angola. However, the Angolans are still a whisker ahead as they've netted more goals.

  22. A big mistake at the back from Mamadou Tall gifts Mudathir El-Tahir with the ball, and with only the goalkeeper to beat he strokes it into the bottom corner of the goal.

  23. 33

    GOAL Sudan! Mudathir El-Tahir!

  24. 30

The Falcons of Jediane push forward and Ala'a Yousif's strike is deflected and goes behind for a corner-kick. However, it is weak and easily cleared by Faso.

  25. 25

A rare attack from Sudan sees Mudathir El-Tahir dispossessed just as he seemed to be lining up the shot. A free-kick at the other end is over-hit and flies over the Burkinabe attackers.

  26. 20

A bit of a shocker from the assistant there. He flags Dagano for off-side, but the replay showed him at least two yards on the safe side of the defensive line. Sudan haven't created any chances yet and they have to win in order to have any chance of progressing. Instead it looks like Faso are fighting for a spot in the last eight.

  27. 15

Free-kick in a dangerous position for Faso after a foul on Dagano. The striker unleashes his effort from just outside the area, but it goes over the bar. Dagano is causing Sudan some real problems in defence. A cross from the right finds him at the far post, but he just can't get the right contact. He was under pressure though.

  28. 10

Intent being shown by the Stallions. A cross from the right wing finds Moumouni Dagano, whose header goes just wide from 10 yards out. Promising play from Faso, who effectively have nothing to play for.

  29. 6

Sudan sub: Moseab Omer on for the injured Najem Abdullah.

  30. 5

Early chance for Faso as Jonathan Pitroipa and Charles Kabore play a deft one-two before Sudan goalkeeper Akram El Hadi closes down the ball just in time. However he clashes with his team-mate Najem Abdullah in the process and the defender receives medical attention. He leaves the pitch and it doesn't look good. He will almost certainly be replaced.

  31. 1

And we're away. Burkina Faso kick off the clash from right to left.

  32. Burkina Faso go into this tie with just pride to play for amid uncertainty over the future of coach Paulo Duarte, who threatened to quit his post after his perceived shortcomings of the country's football federation.
