  1. 90+5

It's all over, Ivory Coast have booked their quarter-final place while Burkina Faso must pack their bags as they have been eliminated from the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. Emotions spill over at the end of the game as some of the players can be seen to be involved in some heated exchanges. A good day's work for the Ivorians but heartbreak for the Stallions.

  2. 90+3

Burkina Faso are still probing, still looking for that illusive goal - they win a corner with just minutes to go - but a poor delivery means Ivory Coast can hoof the ball upfield.

  3. 90+1

There will be five minutes of added time.

  4. 90

Burkina Faso are still trying to force a goal here but Ivory Coast have everyone behind the ball. Bance comes agonisingly close with a header that is just inches wide of the Elephants' goal.

  5. 87

Bertrand Traore is off as Narcisse Yameogo makes an appearance for Burkina Faso.

  6. 82

Bakary Kone nets a freak own goal after trying to head clear a free-kick from Bony. 2-0 to the Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso look to be heading out of the Africa Cup of Nations.

  7. 82

Yaya Toure makes way for Wilfried Bony.

  8. 78

Aristide Bance is on for the injured Pitroipa.

  9. 78

Cheick Tiote is booked for a foul on Jonathan Pitroipa.

  10. 76

Dagano delivers another great ball, deep from the right hand side, but this time Barry is able to collect.

  11. 74

Siaka Tiene is off as Arthur Boka gets a chance to impress. Tiene was on a yellow card.

  12. 73

Mahamoudou Kere makes way for Florent Rouamba for Burkina Faso.

  13. 71

Moumouni Dagano has Burkina Faso's best chance of the match as he headers the ball against the crossbar with Barry beaten. It was a super ball to the back post from Kabore.

  14. 67

Gradel is looking lively down the right hand side and his first job is to deliver a couple of corners before he has a chance to get on the scoresheet himself - but he just fails to get on the end of a teasing cross at the far post.

  15. 64

Max Gradel comes on to replace the injured Kalou.

  16. 63

Traore now at the other end with a super drive that is blocked by the Stallions defence - before Gervinho tests Diakite with a well hit shot after being teed up by Kalou. The Chelsea man could be set to make his departure here after seemingly pulling a muscle.

  17. 60

Should have been 2-0 but again Gervinho squanders his chance in front of goal. Jean-Jacques Gosso put the ball on a plate for him with a perfect cross from the right hand side - but unmarked in the box - he scoops his effort over the bar.

  18. 57

Yellow card to Didier Zokora for a lunge on Kabore.

  19. 53

Traore comes close to bagging an equaliser for the Stallions with a neat side-footed shot after latching on to a good low cross from Pitroipa - but again Barry is well placed to make a comfortable save.

  20. 50

Gervinho struggling for form at the moment as he wastes yet another clear chance. A low free-kick is fed to Drogba on the edge of the Stallions box, and after turning his man he turns and finds the Arsenal striker - but he mis-kicks the ball completely.

  21. 48

The second half has started much the same way the first half ended - with Ivory Coast in control before losing the ball deep in Burkina Faso's half after a long ball goes astray - as the Stallions attack quickly without making any real ground.

  22. 46

We're back as Burkina Faso get the second half underway...

  23. 45+1

The final whistle at the end of this first half has been blown and both teams head down the tunnel. The Ivory Coast have been in impressive form so far and certainly look to have more goals in them. But don't discount Burkina Faso from getting on the scoresheet either. An interesting second half awaits.

  24. 45

There will be just one minute of added time here at the end of this very exciting first half...

  25. 45

A fantastic save at the second time of asking from Diakite to deny Gervinho at close range after spilling a shot from distance from Drogba.

  26. 42

Gervinho wastes a super chance to help his side extend their lead as he hits his low cross from the left straight at Diakite with Drogba all alone in the Burkina Faso box.

  27. 40

Kalou's name is entered into the referee's book for the second time, this time for a foul on Panandetiguiri.

  28. 38

Gervinho is proving to be a willing runner upfront as he tries to latch on to a long ball forward, but Bakary Kone brushes the Arsenal striker aside.

  29. 36

Drogba is getting lumps kicked out of him at present after another hefty challenge, this before Saidou Panandetiguiri wastes a good goal-scoring opportunity as he scoops his cross behind with Pitroipa unmarked in the box.

  30. 32

Booking for Charles Kabore who kicks out at Drogba after losing possession of the ball in midfield.

  31. 30

Bakary Kone is forced to head over his own goal after a smart shot from Kalou from the edge of the box. The Elephants win a corner that is driven in to the far post but Diakite collects with ease.

  32. 28

Free-kick to Burkina Faso and the first yellow of the match as Siaka Tiene brings down Pitroipa. Traore hits the resultant set piece high and wide of the goal.

  33. 25

This time Traore hits the side netting after getting into a good position to shoot wide on the right. While the Stallions are enjoying more of the ball in attack, they still look vulnurable every time the Ivory Coast break forward.

  34. 23

Bertrand Traore gets a shot on target and has Boubacar Barry scrambling to get down, but the Ivorian stopper is well placed to smother the ball.

  35. 21

Strong penalty appeals again for the Stallions as the ball bounces up and hits an Ivorian arm but again the referee is having none of it.

  36. Didier Drogba was the architect of the goal after turning on the left touchline before delivering in a teasing cross that bypassed Yaya Toure at the near post before Kalou arrived on the edge of the box to find the back of the net with a sweetly-taken left foot drive.

  37. 16

Salomon Kalou smashes home as Ivory Coast take an early lead against Burkina Faso.

  38. The Ivorians are very much in control of this tie after 15 minutes as Jean-Jacques Gosso plays a super ball forward for Drogba but an excellent challenge from Bakary Kone stops the 33-year-old striker in his tracks.

  39. 10

Free-kick to the Ivory Coast after Drogba is illegally forced off the ball. The set-piece is swung in to the far post but Daouda Diakite gets a strong fist on the ball and clears the danger with players lurking.

  40. 7

Penalty appeals waved away by the referee as Jonathan Pitroipa is upended in the box. The Stallions felt they should have had a spot-kick there.

  41. 5

Drogba controls the ball well in midfield before releasing Salomon Kalou on the right hand side but his Chelsea teammate can't keep the ball in play.

  42. 3

The Ivorians look in control in the opening stages with Gervinho twice in good scoring positions already although he is quickly closed down and Burkina Faso can regroup.

  43. 1

Ivory Coast get this Group B clash at the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo underway...

  44. The teams are on the field and have lined-up ahead of the national anthems. We are only moments away from kick-off...

  45. Mahamadou Kere is back from suspension, while Hamadou Tall and Mohamed Koffi will have to tread lightly as they are both one booking away from picking up a match ban.

  46. For Burkina Faso, Bakary Kone is lucky to find himself available for selection after his punch on Angolan captain Andre Macanga in their opener went unnoticed by the referee.

  47. On the team front, Cote d'Ivoire will have Didier Zokora available for selection after he missed the clash against Sudan through suspension.

  48. The Stallions, meanwhile, will need nothing less than all three points if they are to retain any hope of progressing past the group stages following their 2-1 opening day defeat to Palancas Negras.

  49. The Elephants head into the clash on three points thanks to Didier Drogba's lone strike against Sudan in their opener last weekend.

  50. The Ivory Coast could secure their passage to the quarter-finals with a win tonight and at the same time end Burkina Faso's tournament.

  51. Good evening and welcome to our live commentary of another epic Africa Cup of Nations encounter.
