  1. FT

But never mind that. Equatorial Guinea have pulled off a massive upset. They are the lowest ranked team at the tournament and have just beaten one of the favourites, effectively ending their campaign. Celebrations will no doubt go into the early hours of the morning.

  2. 90+5

Red card for Laurence Doe! It's unclear what he did though.

  3. Late drama here in Bata as the co-hosts stun Senegal with a long-range screamer from David Alvarez, who found the back of the net with a powerful strike.

  4. 90+4

    GOAL Eq. Guinea! David Alvarez!

  5. 90+2

Late chance for Balboa as he breaks free on the left before unleashing a shot. However, the attempt is well wide of the target.

  6. A free-kick into the Eq. Guinea area is pounced on by Sow after an initial block and he nets it from close range to keep Senegal's AFCON dream alive.

  7. 89

    GOAL Senegal! Moussa Sow!

  8. 85

Senegal are desperately looking for openings as they hunt the equaliser. A defeat would effectively end the Teranga Lions' AFCON campaign. Their coach will undoubtedly express his feelings about the poor pitch should they lose tonight. It may not be the reason for their demise, but it is quite shameful nonetheless.

  9. 81

The Teranga Lions are putting Eq. Guinea under immense pressure now as they continue to attack in numbers. The co-hosts are just hoping to hold on to their fragile lead.

  10. 80

Eq. Guinea sub: Daniel Ekedo on for Thierry Fidjeu.

  11. 75

Big chance for Senegal as they drive into the opposition's area with numbers, but their shots from close range are blocked as the co-hosts defend in numbers.

  12. 70

The goal has certainly boosted the co-hosts' confidence and has ignited the crowd. Senegal are in need of a spark from somewhere. Eq. Guinea are pressing Senegal's midfield without relent now.

  13. Pandemonium in the stands after David Kily's cross found Iban Randy, who headed home with consummate ease to give the co-hosts the lead. Senegal's AFCON campaign is hanging by a thread.

  14. 62

    GOAL Equatorial Guinea! Iban Randy!

  15. 60

Eq. Guinea are putting together some promising attacks now as the game starts to open up. Balboa is in the action again but this time on the right. However, his cross is weak.

  16. 58

Senegal sub: Ba comes off and is replaced by Deme N'Diaye.

  17. 55

Eq. Guinea win a rare corner but the execution is poor and Senegal clear with ease. Issiar Dia shows some of his pace on the counter attack as he surges down the left but he is thwarted. Javier Balboa responds with an attack on the left wing for the co-hosts, but his cross is way off the mark.

  18. 50

Senegal have picked up where they left off. They're dominating the possession and already threatening on the wings.

  19. 46

Eq. Guinea sub: Narcisse Ekanga on for Ivan Bolado as the second half kicks off.

  20. HT

Half-time in Bata with the game still deadlocked at 0-0. Senegal will be disappointed with their lack of finishing in front of goal, while Equatorial Guinea should be content that they've managed to keep the west Africans out.

  21. 44

Senegal have a free-kick in their opponents' area after the foul by Danilo, but they can only hammer it into an onrushing defender.

  22. 41

Yellow card for Danilo after he picked up a back pass.

  23. 35

It is clear that Ba is trying very hard to make an impact but once again an attempt from the striker goes wide of the target. Senegal continue to enjoy the lion's share of the possession but just can't find the decisive strike.

  24. 30

Senegal pile on the pressure as they attack with crosses from the wings before an ambitious long-range strike forces Danilo into another reflex save with the co-hosts only just hanging on there.

  25. 25

Demba Ba misses a massive chance! A ball in from the right finds the Newcastle striker in space, but he scuffs his shot from close range and pushes it wide. The Teranga Lions look most likely to open the scoring, the co-hosts have not really troubled Senegal's defence.

  26. 20

Senegal have a great chance as a ball over the top finds Papiss Cisse, who chests it down and volleys on the turn. However, goalkeeper Danilo is up to the task and pushes it over the bar. It's been all Senegal so far. Ba has also forced a save from Danilo.

  27. 15

Issiar Dia has caused the co-hosts a few problems early on. He drives into their area only for a last-ditch sliding tackle to dispossess him. Equatorial Guinea have found it tough to create chances so far.

  28. 11

Yellow card for Travieso after a foul on Lamine Sane.

  29. 10

Senegal are pushing down the right wing with some success and Mohamed Diame makes it all the way to the byline as he looks to cross, but he dribbles too far and it goes out for a goal-kick.

  30. 5

The match is off to a predictably slow start considering the condition of the pitch. Most of the play has been focused in the middle of the field, but Senegal have threatened with crosses into the area. The pitch is still very wet in some areas.

  31. 1

And we're underway as Senegal kick off proceedings from left to right.

  32. Equatorial Guinea's supporters have absolutely packed the stadium which should give the co-hosts a big lift as they take on west African giants Senegal.

  33. Only minutes away now as the teams line up for their anthems. The pitch still had standing water on it in some areas during the draw between Lybia and Zambia earlier, but conditions seem to have improved.

  34. Equatorial Guinea line-up: 1-Danilo; 3-David Alvarez, 4-Rui Fernando, 5-Fousseny Kamisoko, 15-Laurence Doe; 14-Ben Konate, 6-Juvenal Edjogo, 8-Iban Iyanga, 12-Thierry Fidjeu; 10-Ivan Bolado, 11-Javier Balboa.

  35. Senegal line-up: 1-Bouna Coundoul; 3-Lamine Sane, 5-Souleymane Diawara, 6-Kader Mangane, 22-Cheikh Mbengue; 18-Guirane Ndaw, 10-Issiar Dia, 21-Mohamed Diame; 11-Dame Ndoye, 15-Papiss Demba Cisse, 19-Demba Ba.

  36. Senegal coach Amara Traore has opted to drop captain Mamadou Niang for this tie.

  37. Kick-off for this crucial Group A clash has been rescheduled to 20:15 GMT.

  38. If you fancy a wager, our friends at Sky Bet have priced Equatorial Guinea at 9/2 to win tonight's clash, while Senegal are favourites at 4/6.

  39. The kick-off for this tie was scheduled for 19:00 GMT, but the Libya v Zambia game started late due to inclement conditions in Bata and will consequently delay the start of this game as well. The kick-off time remains unclear at the moment.

  41. Meanwhile, Senegal, perennial underachievers on the African continent, started their AFCON campaign with a shock 2-1 defeat to Zambia, and anything but three points against the co-hosts in midweek could sign the Lions of Teranga's departure papers.

  42. Equatorial Guinea will be looking to make it back-to-back Group A victories tonight after they sounded the opening of the 2012 showpiece with a smash-and-grab 1-0 victory over Libya on Saturday, raising the expectations surrounding Gilson Paulo's squad.
