  1. 90+3

After an incredible scramble in Libya's goalmouth area, Zambia's cries for a late penalty for a player taken out in the box fall on deaf ears and the Bullets will have to settle for share of the spoils in an enthralling encounter in extreme and testing conditions. Which brings an end to our coverage, for now, because don't forget to stay tuned for our live commentary of today's late game between Equatorial Guinea and Senegal.

  2. 90

The Libyans break upfield and then swiftly play the ball out to Ahmed Zuway who's hurtling down the right. The Knights man hammers off a low drive towards Mweene at the far right post, but the Zambian gloveman is up to the task and gets down low to parry the ball out for a corner. Will this match still have a sting in the tail?...

  3. 85

The Knights are seriously threatening to get that allusive winning strike as they fire in several Hail-Mary shots from distance. They'd be better served steering the play to dangerman Osman who even at this late stage of the game still looks the most likely to make something happen when he touches the ball.

  4. 80

As the match enters it's final ten minutes, the Libyans are starting show their desperation by over-committing in their tackles and playing the ball forward with more reckless abandon in a bid to crack that all important winning goal. At this stage, the match looks like ending first draw of this year's tournament.

  5. 75

Some neat footwork by Mayuka takes the Zambian frontman into the Libyan box at pace, weaving in and then out before he tries to cut the ball back for replacement Felix Katongo in front of goal. But the Knights back line just manages to thwart the effort and clear the danger for what would have been a great strike.

  6. 73

Having come as a first half substitution, Mbesuma leaves the field to be replaced by Felix Katongo as Renard's third and final change. Meanwhile, Aboubaker Rabea comes off for Libya as Abdulaziz Belrrish takes his place in defence.

  7. 70

Brilliant acceleration from Osman past the left-back of Zambia takes the Knights hitman past his marker and he fires a stinging shot from the left of the box, but Mweene's well-placed and palms off the ball straight at him up and regathers. Moments later at the other end of the pitch, Mayuka lets one fly from range but his shot soars way over goal.

  8. 65

This game could come down to has the legs to carry them through to the end and find the winner, the muddied and sodden fields starting to take it toll on the players. There's almost no real shape or form to speak from eith Zambia or Libya who both seem focused on trying to hack the ball into their opposition's half and hope for a mistake or the ball to sit up in the mud for an onrushing player to capitalise.

  9. 60

It's end-to-end stuff now as both sides try to make their attacking opportunities count on the swift counter. But it's the Zambians who look the more dangerous of the two, with Mayuka coming close for the Bullets at the far left post.

  10. 54

GOAL! ZAMBIA! KATONGO! Katongo heads his side back on level terms with a diving header at the far right post, the Zamibian skipper getting on the end of an amazing overhead kick-cum cross by Chansa, the Orlando Pirates midfielder controlling the ball well on his chest from a Kabala cross from the left.

  11. 50

Shocked back into action after going behind for the second time in the game, Chipolopolo breakaway down the middle of the park through Kabala, but his on-target shot is blocked by Aboud. Meanwhile, Renard makes his second change of the game, Davies Nkausu coming on for Chisamba Lungu.

  12. 47

GOAL! LIBYA! OSMAN! And the 37-year-old forward bags his second of the evening, showing great composure inside the box to power the ball home from close range after some enterprising play down the flanks by the Knights' widemen.

  13. 46

Zambia get the second stanza underway and will look to carry on where they left in the first 45 minutes, teeing the ball up in the wet and play the game in the Libyans' half. The Libyans have clearly struggled to adapt their game to occasion, especially with injury enforced substitution of one their most impressive player Walid for Faisal Saleh.

  14. 45

As the half draws to a close, the Copper Bullets will head into the break with the ascendency as their dogged approach to committing men and the ball forward reaped reward in the form of a goal as well as the possession stakes. The Knights, meanwhile, will have their work cut out for them as they failed to build on their early breakthrough and would be playing a dangerous game in sitting back and absorbing the Zamibian attack and looking to strike on the counter.

  15. 40

The Zambians have basically set up camp in the Knights' half of the field, Renard's men with the lion's share of possession and showing good intent with several long balls and high crosses from either flank into the danger area.

  16. 35

Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard makes what looks to be a tactical substitution by bringing on striker Collins Mbesuma to replace full-back Francis Kasonde, the Zambians feeling confident with the game going forward to introduce another attacking threat.

  17. 29

GOAL! ZAMBIA! MAYUKA! The 21-year-old striker guides the ball home on the volley past Aboud following a brilliant curling cross into the area from the left by Kalaba.

  18. 26

The Copper Bullets now starting to find their eye for goal with Isaac Chansa drilling in a decent shot from just outside the area, direct at shot-stopper Samir Aboud who gets his whole body behind the ball.

  19. 25

It's a caution for Emmanuel Mayuka after the forward protests to a handball decision gone against him inside the Libyan penalty box.

  20. 20

Nathan Sinkala tries his luck from long range, but his shot is way off target. While the Zambians have started to dominate more of possession, their shooting as been woeful and they'll have to rectify that as quickly as possible, Kabala also struggling to find his radar with an earlier effort.

  21. 15

Utilising the long ball forward option, the Copper Bullets are beginning to probe and look more dangerous on attack as Rainford Kalaba gets a shot off towards goal, but it seriously lacks any power or sting.

  22. 10

While both sides are still struggling to come to terms with a field barely condusive for passing football, let alone a fast-paced game, the Libyans have the early advantage and are looking eager to make it count as they close down the Zambians in the wet and mud.

  23. 5

GOAL! LIBYA! OSMAN! Ahmed Saad Osman with a beautiful left-footed finish past 'keeper Kennedy Mweene after an excellent ball into the box from Elkhatroushi Walid.

  24. Kickoff

Libya gets the game underway and the state of the pitch is already dictating proceedings, the ball holding up in almost ankle-high water as players kick up huge splashes with every kick and step.

  25. After almost an hour's delay, the substitutes take their respective seats on the side of the field and the starting XI's warm-up as the rescheduled kick-off time is set for 1715 GMT.

  26. Both sides and their coaching staff remain in the tunnel as match referees and officials access the water-logged pitch due to inclement weather. In the meantime, the match has been delayed to determine whether or not to postpone it.

  27. Libya are rated at 7/2 to beat Zambia today according to our friends at Sky Bet, and are 50/1 to progress from the group stages. Zambia, meanwhile, are now favourites to top the group at 4/7.

  28. In team news, Libya welcome back Mohamed El Mughrabi after the defensive stalwart missed the Knights defeat to Nzalang Nacional through suspension. Meanwhile, Zambian coach Herve Renard has a full squad to choose from, although goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene is a booking away from suspension. Libyans Abubakar Suiueuinei, Abdalah Al Sherif and Ahmed Osman head into today's encounter on a caution apiece.

  29. Greetings and welcome to Estadio de Bata for the AFCON Group A clash between Libya and Zambia! The Mediterranean Knights need to win if they are to have any chance of reaching the quarter-finals after their opening round 1-0 defeat to co-hosts Equatorial Guinea, as the Copper Bullets stunned heavy-hitters Senegal 2-1 in their respective opener.
