Poland and Portugal continued their preparations for Euro 2012 by playing out a goalless in Warsaw.

The game marked the first ever game in Poland's new national stadium ahead of the European Championships, but the home fans are still waiting to see their first goal at the state-of-the-art arena.

Poland showed little attacking capability throughout the 90-minutes, but coach Franciszek Smuda will be pleased his side was able to keep the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Joao Moutinho at bay.

Poland were also without their own star striker Robert Lewandowski, who has been in great form for his club Borussia Dortmund this season.

Portugal, who were forced to earn their Euro 2012 berth via the playoffs, also displayed a surprising lack of finesse, although they did dominate for much of the match.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was by far the busier in the home goal and he was twice tested early on by Manchester United winger Nani.

Poland did have a sight of goal themselves early on when French-born forward Ludovic Obraniak fired wide.

Portugal's talisman Cristiano Ronaldo had few clear sights of goal, although Szczesny had to punch clear.

Obraniak had another good chance just after the break whilst substitute Slawomir Peszko also went close as Poland finished the better but both sides settled for the draw.

Poland's new National Stadium will be the venue on June 8th for the opening match of Euro 2012.
