  1. Still we wait for an official decision. No way this can happen after the last pitch inspection. Let everyone go home and try again tomorrow. 3pm on Wednesday has been mentioned.

  2. England can't get out of/ don't want to get out of friendly dates with Sweden and Brazil, so no chance of switching game to those international weeks. FIFA keen for game to be played within 24 hours of original schedule.

  3. Why didn't FIFA ask for the roof to be closed. It is in their best interests for the game to go ahead tonight. It's not going to and they now need to squeeze it in at some other time.

  4. More dives from pitch invaders. Never usually get much attention, but at least they providing some entertainment.

  5. Ball barely rolling at all now. Even worse than it was earlier - surprise, surprise!

  6. Here comes the referee!

  7. Hearing that the England players are changed and ready to go. That will make things interesting if they are told to get their kit back on!

  8. FIFA to have final say on when game goes ahead. Tomorrow appears most likely, but Poles not happy about that. Decision may be taken out of their hands.

  9. Fan now on the pitch. He does 'a Klinsmann' across the playing surface. Cheers from the crowd, before he is escorted away. He leaves with a smile on his face.

  10. Still a lot of hardy souls still inside the stadium. Wishful thinking keeping them in their seats. The pitch still has puddles all over it. Goalmouths unplayable. It's dangerous.

  11. Poland players still in full kit. They are keen as mustard! England players will want it played too as they have big games at the weekend and really don't want this put back to Wednesday.

  12. All sorts of conspiracy theories doing the rounds. Some saying added delay will allow players to leave before fans. Hodgson is still knocking around, so I imagine the players are still here.

  13. Enjoying some of the comments which are continuing to make their way to my inbox. Not all suitable for publish, though. Keep them coming to or @SkySportsChrisB as we look to fill time.

  14. England prepared to play the game tomorrow if needs be. Apparently the team haven't checked out of their hotel yet - it's alright for some!

  15. If, and it's a big if, the game goes ahead, this delay will have done nothing for the players. They will have been sitting around twiddling their thumbs for the best part of two hours without getting out onto the field.

  16. Another inspection due at 8.45pm. Fans streaming out of the stadium, they have seen enough.

  17. Roof update - it's still open and it's still raining.

  18. FIFA still keen to get this game on. They want 45 minutes to an hour to try and work on the pitch. Good luck to them!

  19. Hodgson out on the field flashing evils at the officials. Ball is rolling, very slightly. Referee making his way all over the field, testing all areas. All the same!

  20. Officials are out on the pitch. Decision on its way.

  21. Heating system is on. Can't see that clearing the standing water. Closing the roof would have solved all of this. Polish official says they didn't know it would rain this hard for this long.

  22. Fans not happy - understandably. Pitch looks waterlogged. No way the officials will be able to get a ball to run across the turf. Polish officials saying kick-off could be delayed if there is a chance of getting pitch playable.

  23. Talk of game being rescheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) night.

  24. Roof can't now be closed. Not looking like this is going to go ahead. Farcical situation.

  25. The stadium has a roof, but it has been left open! Someone is going to get their wrist slapped if this game is called off. Hodgson still shaking his head on the sidelines. He doesn't look like he wants to play.

  26. Decision to be made on the state of the pitch and the likelihood of getting this game on at 8pm.

  27. Heavy rain has been falling in Poland and the pitch is in a right state. Puddles all over the place and neither side has come out to warm up. We might not get a game here.

  28. For all the talk of Ashley Cole in the build-up to the game, it is also worth noting that Steven Gerrard wins his 99th cap tonight. Great achievement by both - loyal servants to their country and deserve to become centurions.

  29. One piece of good news for England, Stuart Pearce's U21s have won in Serbia and are through to the 2013 European Championships. Ugly scenes at the final whistle, but the Young Lions have got the job done.

  30. Focusing on events on the field - has Hodgson named a winning line-up? Will England lack width? Get your thoughts in to or @SkySportsChrisB.

  31. England team has now been confirmed, and they will line up as expected. Another piece of breaking news from Poland - the England band have been refused entry and their instruments impounded. Tonight, I am told, will be only the second time in 20 years that they have been missing.

  32. The starting XI believed to have been selected by Hodgson for tonight's game is: Hart, Johnson, Jagielka, Lescott, Cole, Milner, Gerrard, Carrick, Cleverley, Rooney, Defoe.

  33. Roy Hodgson is believed to have made six changes to his starting XI for tonight's game, with Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson among those to have been drafted back in. We will bring you the official team sheets shortly.

  34. Can England pick up three points on the road? Can Poland stun the Three Lions on home soil? Who will the players to keep an eye on? What have you made of England so far? Let me know your thoughts.

  35. Feel free to air your opinions prior to kick-off by contacting me direct at or @SkySportsChrisB.

  36. If you fancy a flutter ahead of kick-off, England are 10/11 favourites to come out on top in Poland with the hosts 16/5. The draw is priced at 12/5. England skipper Steven Gerrard is 9/1 to be the first man on target while Polish targetman Robert Lewandowski is 9/1.

  37. Roy Hodgson will be well aware of the threat posed by the hosts and will set his side up accordingly - with it important for him to see his team put in a performance which will raise morale on the road to Brazil 2014.

  38. Poland have taken four points from their two fixtures so far and will feel that they have plenty of players at their disposal that could trouble England.

  39. The Three Lions huffed and puffed slightly against European minnows San Marino on Friday and will need to step things up in what promises to be a tough test on the road.

  40. Welcome to Warsaw for our coverage of tonight's 2014 World Cup qualifier between Poland and England.
