  1. If you offered Stoke a draw at the start of the game they would have taken it, but that must be hard to take for Potters fans. They looked to be hanging on to a famous win but just couldn't see out the final moments. It is still a performance to be proud of though and one that stands them in good stead going forward in this group. Keep with for all the post-match reaction and interviews coming right up.

  2. 90+4

    Full time:Dynamo Kiev 1 Stoke 1

  3. 90+3

The wall does well and it's cleared.

  4. 90+3

Free-kick to Kiev on the edge of the box.....

  5. 90+1

Heartbreak for Stoke. Shawcross' clearance falls for Andriy Yarmolenko, who volleys the ball across the box and Ognjen Vukojevic stabs home at the far post.

  6. 90+1

    Goal for Dynamo Kiev!!!

  7. 90

Three minutes to be added on

  8. 89

Close!!! Aliev has another shot that fizzes just wide of Sorensen's left hand post.

  9. 88

Hearts in mouths for Stoke fand there. A cross towards the far finds Ideye Brown six yards out but his header is straight at Sorensen.

  10. 87

Substitution for Stoke: Wilson Palacios is replaced by John Walters.

  11. 86

Pennant picks up the ball and launches a rare counter-attack for Stoke, his high, long pass finds Jones who chests the ball down and fires in a volley straight at Shovkovskiy.

  12. 84

Yarmolenko tries a shot goes well, well, well over. (it deserved three 'wells' for being that bad).

  13. 83

I'm saying this now Potters fans, it's going to be a nervy last seven minutes, hold onto your hats people!!!

  14. 82

Substitution for Stoke: Ryan Shotton is replaced by Dean Whitehead.

  15. 82

He has to score!? No!!! Shevchenko is free in the area but chooses to pass the ball across the box instead of shoot. No one is there to convert and you have to wonder why a player of his quality chose to pass instead of shoot on goal.

  16. 79

Out of nowhere Kenwyne Jones chests a clearance and turns instantly, peeling away from the last defender. For a moment I thought he was going all the way, but he hesitated at the crucial moment and the chance goes a begging.

  17. 76

Off the crossbar!!!! He is getting closer, Aliev is teed up by Shevchenko and his rasping shot has Sorensen beaten but thumps off the top of the crossbar.

  18. 73

Substitution for Stoke: Cameron Jerome comes off to be replaced by Jermaine Pennant - you called it Alec.

  19. 73

Substitution for Dynamo Kiev: Hmmmm, the substitute is substituted, Lukman Haruna is replaced by Ideye Brown.

  20. 73

Stoke are being pushed deep now and they are virtually defending on the edge of their own area. Milevskiy lines up another shot from 18 yards but three Stoke players hurl themselves infront of the Kiev number 10 to block the shot. Commitment personified.

  21. 72

Good point Alec, Pennant and and Jon Walters are on the bench if needed.

  22. 69

We have seen him score from there before. Shevchenko chases a long ball and as it drops from over his shoulder he tries an ambituous first-time volley that goes just over. He perhaps should have taken a touch there.

  23. 66

That frustration I was telling you about is demonstrated by Lukman Haruna, who is booked for slamming the ball down into the ground after conceding a free-kick.

  24. 65

Just as I say that Aliev has a shot pushed round the post for a corner. The resulting set-piece results in a goal-mouth scramble that Stoke just manage to survive.

  25. 64

Back to the game and Stoke are more than holding their own. The Kiev fans are starting to get frustrated, as our the players.

  26. 60

Popov swings in a cross that finds Shevchenko completely unmarked 16 yards out, he doesn't get any power in the header however and it's straight at Sorensen.

  27. 60

Stoke fans what do you think of that?? Will you hang on? Have your say! or @Tom_Mallows

  28. 57

How many yellow cards before we see a red??? Popov is the latest man to be booked for a shoulder barge into the chest of Jerome.

  29. 56

Substitution for Dynamo Kiev: Oleksandr Aliev is on for Milos Ninkovic

  30. 55

Well, well, well, would you believe it!? A great run by Ryan Shotton down the right sees him burst into the area. He fires in a low cross that finds Cameron Jerome at the far post, he takes a touch to get the ball out of his feet before eventually stabbing the ball into the roof of the net from eight yards.

  31. 55

    Goal for Stoke!! Jerome!!!!

  32. 50

That was close! Artem Milevskiy doesn't quite catch his shot but it has Sorensen diving full stretch to his right, luckily for Stoke it goes wide.

  33. 48

Artem Milevskiy is booked for a painful looking challenge on Shotton. He may like flashing his yellow card but at least the referee is consistent with what he deems worthy of a booking.

  34. 47

The corner-kick comes to nothing however and Kiev clear.

  35. 46

Early chance for Stoke as Jerome breaks free in the area, he gets to the byline but his cross is blocked by SIlva for a corner.

  36. 46

We are underway again in the second half.

  37. 46

Substitution for Dynamo Kiev: Lukman Haruna replaces Denys Garmash

  38. Thomas Sorensen has come out early to prepare for the second half, perhaps gearing himself up for a busy 45 minutes?

  39. Well, a couple of half chances aside it is been fairly tame stuff at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Stadium. Stoke will take that though, they could do with offering a bit more of a threat upfront but on the evidence of the first 45 minutes they look well capable of at least hanging on for a point.

  40. 45+1

    Half time:Dynamo Kiev 0 Stoke 0

  41. 45

The referee likes his yellow card, Denys Garmash is the latest man to be booked for a foul on Huth.

  42. 44

And another, Robert Huth obviously feels a bit left out and decides to get booked as well for a trip on Yarmolenko.

  43. 43

Matthew Upson follows Shawcross into the book for a needless hack from behind.

  44. 41

Just like his last effort, Shevchenko's shot is poor and hits the Stoke wall.

  45. 40

Ouch, that wasn't soft, Ryan Shawcross slides in with two feet on the edge of the area. It was nothing malicious, but a definite yellow and a free-kick in a dangerous area......

  46. 38

The referee blows for a foul by Kenwyne Jones in the Kiev penalty area, looked a bit soft to me. Both Jones and Jerome have been penalised tonight by the referee for nothing challenges.

  47. 35

Chance for Kiev! A nice move down the right results in Danilo Silva's cross finding Artem Milevskiy free in the area, but he can't get hold of his shot and Sorensen saves at the second attempt.

  48. 32

Ok, I'll say it, this aint the best game I've seen in my life, but if you're a Stoke fan I doubt you will care. A 0-0 draw would be a great result to kick-off the group stages.

  49. 31

Never mind Richard, I'm sure the fact you're in a bar in Bermuda will ease the pain of not being able to watch the game, that and my excellent commentary of course, ahem....

  50. 29

Free-kick to Kiev in a dangerous area, anticipation mounts as Andriy Shevchenko lines it up, but the former Chelsea man's effort goes straight into the Stoke wall.

  51. 27

Milos Ninkovic tries his luck from distance, but it is easy for Sorensen to save.

  52. 25

That miss by Yarmolenko seems to have woken Stoke up, who are enjoying their best spell of the game. They haven't managed to fashion a decent chance yet though.

  53. 23

Stoke respond by winning a couple of corners, the second of which is cleared only as far as Shotton, who sees his left foot effort go wide.

  54. 20

What a miss!! Just as I praise Stoke they nearly concede. Popov has a shot from distance that Sorensen parries towards Andriy Yarmolenko - he could have shot, he could have passed to two free team-mates - instead he scuffs the ball out for a goal-kick. Huge let-off for Stoke.

  55. 19

Tony Pulis will be fairly satisfied with the opening exchanges here. They haven't offered much as an attacking force but they are definitely holding their own.

  56. 18

Don't forget you can have your say on this game - email me or tweet me @Tom_Mallows and I will put up the best.

  57. 16

Salif Diao is booked for a foul on Denys Garmash, he has already been warned by the referee so can have no complants.

  58. 15

Stoke defend the set piece well though and clear the ball to the halfway line, Pulis has his back four well organised yet again.

  59. 14

Just as I say that a cross comes in from the right that goes all the way to Goran Popov at the far post whose shot deflects behind for a corner....

  60. 13

Dynamo Kiev are on top at the moment, they aren't creating clear-cut chances, but they are definitely dominating possession in midfield.

  61. 10

Stoke fall asleep a Dynamo corner allowing Andriy Shevchenko to have a shot from the angle, thankfully for Stoke it flies wide of the far post. The Potters can't afford to keep doing that.

  62. 8

Denys Garmash is next to have a pop, but he drags it well, well wide.

  63. 7

Andriy Yarmolenko has an ambitious effort from distance that goes well over the bar.

  64. 5

Ryan Shotton hurls in the first long-throw of the evening but Kiev 'keeper Oleksandr Shovkovskiy rises above everyone else to claim.

  65. 4

Decent early spell of possession for Kiev, they build a move down the left that results in Goran Popov swinging in a cross, but Thomas Sorensen is able to claim easily.

  66. 3

As usual, the Stoke supporters are outsinging their opponents, determined to enjoy their European adventure. On the pitch, Cameron Jerome is penalised for an early foul.

  67. 1

Discounting the qualifiers, this is Stoke's first appearance in Europe for 37 years. They are the ones to get us underway wearing their all dark blue change strip.

  68. The teams are on the field at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Stadium. It's not full but there seems to be a decent atmosphere building, we are just awaiting all the pre-match formalities before the big kick-off....

  69. The teams are gathering in the tunnel, Ryan Shawcross leading the way for the Potters.....

  70. This is Kiev and Stoke's first ever meeting as well as the Potters' first match against Ukrainian opposition. Kiev though have plenty of experience against English sides, winning four, drawing five and losing 11 of their 20 matches against Premier League opponents.

  71. This is the start of a tricky run of games for the Potters with Sunderland, Spurs and Man United all to come in the next nine days. Stoke fans, are you enjoying your European adventure so far? What affect will it have on your league performances? How far will you go in the Europa League? Let me know your views and I will print the best of them. You can email me or tweet me @Tom_Mallows

  72. The referee this evening is Ovidiu Alin Hategan of Romania.

  73. Dynamo Kiev Subs: Koval, Aliev, Ideye, Haruna, Khacheridi, Correa, Dudu Rodrigues.

  74. Stoke Subs: Nash, Pennant, Whitehead, Walters, Arismendi.

  75. Dynamo Kiev team: Shovkovskiy, Danilo Silva, Betao, Popov, Vukojevic, Garmash, Ninkovic, Yussuf, Shevchenko, Yarmolenko, Milevskiy.
