  1. So there we have it, a fantastic result for Arsenal who win the group with a game to spare - who would have guessed that when the draw was made back in August? Thanks for joining me for our coverage this evening - sorry I couldn't publish all your feedback, I will try and air your views next time. In the meantime stick with skysports.com for all the reports and reaction.

  2. 90+2

Full time: Arsenal 2 Borussia Dortmund 1

  3. 90+2

Arsenal give the ball away near the right corner flag, the ball goes in the area towards Lewandowski who tees up Shinji Kagawa for a late consolation.

  4. 90+2

    Goal!! Kagawa!!

  5. 90

Two minutes to be added on.

  6. 88

Make no mistake this has been a tough, tough game for Arsenal this evening, but they have ground out this result - I thought Arsenal didn't know how to win ugly? Some words being eaten by critics as we speak.....

  7. 86

Arteta takes the corner low to the near post, Thomas Vermaelen flicks it on and Robin van Persie sweeps the ball home at the far stick! Simplicity itself! The knock-out stages are beckoning!

  8. 86

    Goal!! Van Persie!!!

  9. 85

Before it is taken Abou Diaby comes on to make his first appearance of the season in place of Theo Walcott.

  10. 85

Free-kick to Arsenal 30 yards from goal. Arteta takes it but the ball hits the wall and goes out for a corner.

  11. 83

Sub for Arsenal: Laurent Koscielny is replaced by Johan Djourou.

  12. 82

Chance for Benayoun in the area but he can neither pass to Walcott or fire in a shot and Dortmund scramble it clear.

  13. 81

Walcott goes on another run down the right wing but he over-hits his cross and it goes out for a goal-kick.

  14. 80

Laurent Koscielny does well to snuff out a Dortmund attack and then win a throw-in for his side.

  15. 78

Benayoun is then booked for a late challenge, cards coming thick and fast at the moment.

  16. 78

Great bit of skill by Yossi Benayoun who skips past two players before passing to van Persie, but he had just gone too early and the offside flag is raised.

  17. 77

Arsenal are starting to drop deeper inside their own half, nerves kicking in methinks, 13 minutes left.

  18. 76

Aaron Ramsey is booked, apparently for kicking the ball away, but to me it looked like he was merely passing the ball back where it should be taken.

  19. 74

Change for Arsenal: Yossi Benayoun is on for Gervinho.

  20. 72

Walcott does well to track back and win the ball deep in his own half, he feeds Ramsey down the line who in turns tries to find van Persie, but he is flagged offside.

  21. 71

Van Persie briefly goes down too, but much to the relief of Arsenal fans everywhere he quickly gets up. Arteta is ok now as well by the way.

  22. 70

Mikel Areta looks in pain as he hobbles to the touchline, looks like a injury to his lower right leg.

  23. 67

Another rapid break from Arsenal as Ramsey feeds Walcott down the right who sends a fizzing effort just over the bar.

  24. 66

Ivan Perisic tries a free-kick from distance that deflects off the wall for a corner. The corner is swung in towards the far post but the ref gives a free-kick to Arsenal for a push in the box.

  25. 64

Dortmund sub: Sebastian Kehl is replaced by Lucas Barrios, a striker on for a midfielder.

  26. 63

Theo Walcott isn't happy, he has a go at Marcel Schmelzer, who he feels barged him off the ball. The referee isn't impressed though and shows Walcott the yellow card.

  27. 62

Gervinho does well to get the the byline down the left, but his cross is claimed by Weidenfeller at the near post.

  28. 59

Gervinho has to score?! No!! Van Persie plays a great ball through, Gervinho is onside but hesistates at the crucial moment and a defender can get back and clear.

  29. 55

Moritz Leitner fires a cross-field pass looking for Robert Lewandowski but his shot from a tight angle goes well over.

  30. 54

The Dortmund fans are chanting 'you only sing when you're winning' to the Arsenal fans. Do you think the Gunners supporters know any German to respond in kind?

  31. 51

Marcel Schmelzer is booked for a silly challenge on Walcott, he will now miss Dortmund's next game.

  32. 50

Who else but Robin van Persie?? Credit though has to go to Alex Song, who won the ball in midfield, went on a mazy run down the left, beat three players and then put in a cross to the far post that the Dutchman headed into the bottom corner.

  33. 49

    Goal!!! Van Persie!!!!

  34. 48

Shinji Kagawa bursts through the Arsenal defence down the left and his shot from the angle is blocked by Szczesny. Great start to the second half by the visitors.

  35. 46

Lukasz Piszczek puts in a low cross that takes a deflection and fizzes menacingly across the Arsenal goalmouth. Mertesacker puts it out for a corner that Arsenal clear.

  36. 46

Here we go for the second half.....

  37. It's still all to play for at the break. Dortmund's high intensity game is frustrating Arsenal, who have yet to create a clear opening. What are your thoughts on the game so far? Send your emails to tom.mallows@bskyb.com or Tweet me @Tom_Mallows.

  38. 45+3

Half time: Arsenal 0 Borussia Dortmund 0

  39. 45+2

Koscielny is appealing for a free-kick near the right side of the penalty area, but referee Frank De Bleeckere says no.

  40. 45+1

The game is really warming up now, it is a pity then that half time is imminent!

  41. 44

Chance for Arsenal! Walcott puts in a great, low, first-time cross towards van Persie at the far post, Weidenfeller stretches to push the ball away but no-one in an Arsenal shirt is there to prod home the rebound.

  42. 41

Moritz Leitner leads a counter attack for Dortmund but his through pass is well cut out by Laurent Koscielny.

  43. 40

The ball is in the net - but the flag is up! Van Persie shows great skill to turn and play in Walcott who fires past Weidenfeller, but the England man was just ahead of the last man and the goal is rightly ruled out.

  44. 38

No-one closes Sebastian Kehl down 35 yards from goal, but his shot slices off his boot and goes well over.

  45. 37

Mikel Arteta keeps picking the ball up in front of his own back four, deep inside his own half. that's a sign of how difficult Dortmund are making things for Arsenal.

  46. 33

Really impressed with Dortmund so far, they are pressuring Arsenal all over the field. It is a tough game to call.

  47. 31

Gervinho takes a heavy touch and lets the ball escape him and out for a goal kick, he has had a quiet game so far.

  48. 29

Mario Gotze's evening has come to an end, he is replaced by Ivan Perisic. That is a boost for Arsenal, mind you it was Perisic who scored that spectacular equaliser in the first game between the two sides back in September.

  49. 27

Robert Lewandowski fires an effort just wide from 25 yards, meanwhile Mario Gotze appears to be struggling.

  50. 25

Moritz Leitner is on for Sven Bender, who leaves the field on a stretcher wearing a neck brace, lets hope is isn't as serious as it looks. The Arsenal fans sportingly applaud him from the field.

  51. 23

Sven Bender is down for Dortmund, the physio is indicating that he needs to be taken off. I think it may have been an accidential boot in the first, plenty of medical staff on the field at present.

  52. 22

Best chance for the game for Arsenal as Walcott runs onto Ramsey's pass, but Dortmund 'keeper Weidenfeller does well to come out and block his shot.

  53. 20

Another van Persie corner seems him send the ball deep, but Arteta cannot control and it spins off the Spaniard for a goal kick.

  54. 18

Per Mertesacker goes for the header at the near-post but it comes off a Dortmund man first and out for a throw-in.

  55. 17

Santos puts in another ball from the left that flicks off the head of Mats Hummels for a corner...

  56. 15

Dortmund are doing a great job of pushing Arsenal back into their own half, the Gunners are struggling to find a way through at present.

  57. 13

Kagawa gets in behind the Arsenal defence down the right but his cross is over-hit and is cleared at the far post.

  58. 12

Andre Santos puts a cross in towards the far post, van Persie gets his head on it but the ball loops easily into the arms of Weidenfeller.

  59. 11

Arsenal looking more confident now, stroking the ball around midfield.

  60. 9

Good play by Andre Santos, reading the danger to rob Lewandowski before winning a free-kick on the left touchline.

  61. 7

That's woken the Arsenal fans up, chants from both sides now echoing around the Emirates, great atmosphere.

  62. 5

Dortmund are storming forward again while Arsenal are looking nervous in defence, Thomas Vermaelen having little choice but to fire the ball out for a throw-in just to clear his lines.

  63. 5

Shinji Kagawa tries a shot from distance but that is easy for Szczesny to collect.

  64. 4

Andre Santos goes on a spirited run from left back and feeds Robin van Persie, but his first-time through ball looking for Theo Walcott has too much on it and Dortmund 'keeper Roman Weidenfeller can claim.

  65. 3

They may be outnumbered, but the 7,000 Dortmund fans are making a right racket, terrific support for the Bundesliga club.

  66. 1

Nearly a chance for Robert Lewandowski straight away but Wojciech Szczesny is alert to come out of his goal and smother the through ball.

  67. 1

Dortmund will get the match underway.

  68. Here come the players, that familiar music is just about to kick in.....

  70. The teams are in the tunnel, not long to go now....

  71. Arsenal currently head Group F with eight points, so can ensure their passage to the knock-out rounds with a win. Dortmund are in third on four points, a point ahead of Olympiacos but three points behind Marseille. They really need the victory this evening.

  72. Robin van Persie is chatting animatedly with his team-mates during the warm-up, Wenger will be pleased with that show of leadership from the Dutchman.
