Doble: Concern for Cherries

Doble: Concern for Cherries

Team news ahead of Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy first-round tie between Bournemouth and Hereford at Dean Court.

Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury is hoping on-loan striker Ryan Doble will make a full recovery from his thigh strain in time.

Doble, currently on loan from Southampton, missed the recent defeats to West Brom and Walsall but could return to Bradbury's side to help halt an alarming losing streak.

Bournemouth are currently enduring a run of four straight defeats, scoring only three goals, which has seen them slump to 21st in League One after having won their opening two games.

Steven Gregory is also doubtful due to a thigh injury of his own, while Michael Symes (back) and Joe Partington (hip) remain sidelined.

Despite his outspoken views about losing the number-one jersey, Shwan Jalal was named as a substitute for the defeat against Walsall and could be given an opportunity in this cup fixture.

Hereford boss Jamie Pitman is likely to hand game time to his new arrivals.

Strikers Sam Winnall and Tom Barkhuizen last week signed on loan from Wolves and Blackpool respectively along with Swindon centre-back Will Evans.

None of the trio managed to get any minutes under their belts in Saturday's goalless draw at Bristol Rovers despite being named on the bench.

Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett made an earlier-than-expected return from a thigh injury to take his place among the substitutes at the Memorial Stadium and will again be named in Pitman's matchday 16.

James McQuilkin and the injured Joe Colbeck dropped out of the Bulls' squad at the weekend and a decision will be made over their involvement against the Cherries.

Midfielder Rob Purdie (thigh) faces another fitness test, while defenders Stefan Stam and Benoit Dalibard (both hamstring) are again set to miss out.
